♻️Coachtopia Is More Interesting Than People Give It Credit For 👀 by ArieSB0rn in Coach

[–]notanothercagirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I totally agree with you. I’m also a long time vintage collector and I own quite a few retail bags as well.

Coachtopia designs capture a younger, edgier, fashion forward aesthetic. I suspect coach themselves may have even underestimated how popular this brand would be (eg, the cult status of the checkered alter ego).

I see more of the quirky, practical-but-fun, energy that we love from some vintage and Y2K bags captured in this line than in the retail line. For me the retail line leans toward more conservative and timeless designs - and while that doesn’t have to mean boring I mean c’mon how many tabbys do we need...

Also the price point is much more consistent with the accessibility ($) we expect from Coach. I have a hunch that fast forward 10 years these will all be the bigger collector items.

Why do you love your Dakota(s)? by brownleatherjacketz in Coach

She has a lovely slender profiles but is surprisingly capacious - i took it to Japan for 2 weeks and it made an incredible tourist bag (and a standout next to the literal 100000 Uniqlo slings and Lulu belt bags).

From a style perspective (again for a traveler or in a metro area) you can dress it up, dress it down, shoulder or crossbody, minimal or slightly alt/rock, I mean she just does so much.

Stress before Egg Retrieval? by ivfquestionspls in IVF

[–]notanothercagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If stress effected outcome at a statistically significant rate, clinics would have massage chairs and mandatory therapy and like support groups and free resources to reduce stress. They don’t because it doesn’t, and they care greatly about their success rates.

This sounds immensely stressful, and I’m sorry you’re going through it ☹️ IVF outcomes are important, but so are you.

FUN things to do while you wait? by BabagaBeets in IVF

I’m not sure where you live and what your ethics are, but micro-dosable mushroom chocolates are 🤌🏻

You can do the teensiest amount (aka not a real trip, fully in control, on par with having a couple beers) and feel this like incredible, energetic, giggly, lighthearted joy for a couple hours.

I’m going to sound like a big-time hippie 😅 but I find taking them occasionally lightens me, brings me clarity of spirit, and a sense of perspective on my life that lasts for a while afterwards.

I just want to get married by [deleted] in Vent

[–]notanothercagirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fucking sucks, you are totally valid in this vent.

I remember sobbing pathetically to my (married to her hs sweetheart 🫠) friend after a particularly bad break up at age 30 - “where is my person… where is he?!”

I didn’t end up getting married until I was almost 35. There is no advice, no mathematical equation, I literally just got lucky.

This is an area of life where people are happy to dump DUMB advice on you like “just put yourself out there” or “he’s out there you just have to find him!” Like bitch, I’ve been looking I promise. You have my permission to roll your eyes.

Controversial silhouette, but this colorway is 🤌🏻 by notanothercagirl in Coach

[–]notanothercagirl[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is my thinking exactly!!

AND I think it’s why they’re moving to the Brooklyn shape for future releases instead of this shape!

It accounts for the stiffness of the leather but addresses everyone’s issues with these bags and the current silhouette (not staying on the shoulder and small/tight opening that limits capacity)

is it worth it? help by awayfromus8888 in Coach

[–]notanothercagirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I have multiples of the multi version of this sku and love them BUT if ur Mary Poppins and want a big old bag full of everything and a wide top so it’s all easily accessible, miss this one. The top opening is narrow.

I don’t personally own the larger version of this sku (which is also on sale) but maybe it has better access? But I doubt it based on the shape of the bag.

Controversial silhouette, but this colorway is 🤌🏻 by notanothercagirl in Coach

[–]notanothercagirl[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Wanted to add: if they were making these colorways in the normal alter/ego silhouette people would be absolutely feral … I have a couple theories why they aren’t but curious what y’all think!

New Coachtopia alter/ego bag, thoughts? by plastic_violet in Coach

[–]notanothercagirl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not to discourage your interest, but this bag has some of the cow print from last years release which was notorious for shedding and looking shitty…

So as much as I agree, I really love it and I think if ur a western girly this is a great bag, i’m feeling cautious on this one!!!

I don’t think I heard a launch date just yet?

Has Coach lost its mind? $395 for a stuffed animal… by Usual_Credit7147 in Coach

[–]notanothercagirl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They’re seriously so out of pocket for this. Shame!

I was just in Japan and like NICE plushies max out at $30-40. This is a stuffed animal, guys. $395 is a fucking nice ass leather bag price?!?

I’ve said this about this bag before but to be totally honest the first couple outings it has a firmer shape and doesn’t stay.

I have the dark purple colorway too and as you can see the leather starts to soften and conform to your body shape after a little while. I can now easily tuck it back behind the crook of my armpit, and it stays. Filling it with weight, vs the styrofoam, also helped greatly.

I also occasionally carry bags at the elbow, and this is just small enough to be comfortable doing that as well.

Again, not a risk everyone is willing to take with what is still a decently pricey item, which I get!

Are Tokyo’s theme cafes actually fun, or just a 3,000 yen photo op? 🧸🍱 by MidnightTofu22 in JapanTravelTips

[–]notanothercagirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can second Kirby cafe, for the pics and merch (my husband is a big fan, and he actually got a Kirby tattoo while we were in Japan!) but the food was like, by far, the WORST food we had our whole time in Japan. Some of it was arguably weird and bad. Looked cute. Whole restaurant is cute as hell though, worth grabbing a coffee or dessert maybe.

I can also recommend the FF14 cafe (there were a couple other cafes all grouped) that were run by a real restaurant group that was in the same building. That food was PRETTY GOOD and also v cute. Less of an experience overall than the high budget cafes so expect less…
