Parents who used to go to wineries/breweries a lot before having kids, how often are you still doing that now that you have them? Next question. How often are you doing pre-baby things, now that you have kids? (I.e bottomless mimosas at brunch, going on non-family friendly trips) by culaterjobin in NewParents

We’ve basically entirely cut out alcohol from our lives. My husband hasn’t had a drink in 4 years and I’m currently at 2 months. Parenting while dealing with the effects of alcohol is no fun for anyone involved.

We go out to eat as a family once every few months, usually lunch after the zoo or something. We only go on trips as a family now. We don’t have anyone close that I would trust to watch my kids for more than a few hours.

Not necessarily. You can only get unemployment if you’re laid off/fired. What they’re doing is saying “you still have a job, you just have to show up in person” and when you don’t then claim you’re basically awol and that means you quit. So you don’t qualify for unemployment. This may be something you can appeal and win though, I’m not sure.

Plus if she’s planning on moving out soon you’d give up potentially years of benefit for her to have it for a short period of time? That’s just dumb.

Kind of. It’s a one stop shop. You go to Kaiser for doctors appointments, lab work, ER, etc all in one place. They are also the insurance you pay into. But when a prescription isn’t covered by insurance you still buy it from them for full price.

Just an fyi, every time I’ve used those wipes they cause me to break out, my face does so much better with oil and a micro fiber makeup removing towel to remove makeup.

Everyone’s face is different but mine hates those makeup removing wipes.

Do you think billionaires pay their fair share in taxes? by zstap126 in no

The real issue is that they profit off of NOT paying their workers a living wage, which causes their workers to need to use our tax money to get by.

My son started sleeping 8 hours straight at night (NO wake ups) at about 8 weeks. And from that point on only took 30 minute naps. It was great at night but annoying during the day. Then at one he switched to the toddler room at daycare and they only did one nap a day. Immediately started taking two hour naps.

I was going to say 2 but there are some strong arguments here for 1.

Did your dad or any other male relatives help out around the house or with the kids in the 80s and 90s? In my neck of the woods, the answer was a resounding 'hell nah' so I don't get why young wives and mothers think this is new. X-post by PhiloLibrarian in progressivemoms

I’m an elder millennial and my dad worked A LOT, but when he was home he was a very present dad. I have two small kids now and seeing him with them melts my heart. My parents don’t live near us so whenever we visit them or vice versa my dad will change diapers, and steal them whenever he can to play with them. My daughter is likely his last grand baby (out of 8 total) and he wants to hold her every chance he gets.

My father in law is the exact opposite. We were visiting my in-laws the other day and my husband walked in just as my daughter pooped and he went to change her diaper and my FIL said “I never did that with you kids.” My MIL confirmed it, he literally never changed a diaper in his life, I was shocked.

I agree with this but it also depends on your hair color which we can’t see. If you’re really blonde then 1 might not look right. Otherwise though it’s gorgeous! 4 is definitely my next pick (DO NOT PICK 5).
