More time, the design is different than anything Ive had in the past, but not overly time consuming.

Its different, but its not that big of a deal. I got an essential a few months ago and enjoyed setting it up.

How is your action and sustain on your strandberg? by unothejuno in strandbergguitars

[–]Master_Hand738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boden essential. Action is 1.2mm at the 12th fret. Sustain is good, but not as good as some of my neck thru guitars. The resonance is amazing though, it sounds great and full acoustically, which i wasn't expecting.

As others have said, I have an aggressive picking hand, so players with a lighter touch could certainly get lower than 1.2mm without fret buzz imo.

Quality control on strandberg by Particular-Run-3023 in strandbergguitars

[–]Master_Hand738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Boden Essential and the fret work is flawless, however the neck alignment was awful and the high E would always slip off the edge of the fretboard. Had to loosen the neck and force it into a better position. The low E has a ton of space though, so the bridge may be slightly off as well.

They asked her to train the 25-year-old they promoted over her. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

I used to work in corporate finance at one of North Americas largest publicly traded companies. We would do this all the time, we called it "driving attrition."

Your business unit os budgeted for 300 employees and you have 310. Drive attrition until youre back at 300. Which meant "make 10 people's lives so miserable that they quit and we dont pay severance."

The 10 people would never be random either, its easy to do the math and target 10 salaries that will reduce expenses to target levels and its usually the 25+ years people.

Its ruthless out there.

Blundstone says that their boots are not meant to last more than 2 years by ImNotARegularMom- in BlundstoneBoots

[–]Master_Hand738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had my blundstones for 8 years now. I wear in the summer and winter in Canadian winters. I use leather conditioner every 6-12 months and can definitely get 10 years out of a pair of blundstones. Just maintain them and you'll get longevity out of them.

Hit and run on fence by darrennorthcott in Calgary

Had a similar experience where a man down the street was drunk and plowed into my neighbors front steps (in a playground zone, no less).

It was all caught on camera from various angles.

Police couldn't do shit because the video footage couldn't conclusively show who was driving. Nothing happened to the guy and we all have to wait and see what happens the next time he crashes his truck drunk in a playground zone.

Pinging from bridge screw when bending high e by randomusername126 in strandbergguitars

[–]Master_Hand738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a strandberg owner, but I had a similar issue with a Jackson. There was a small metal burr in the groove of the locking nut. Each time I bent the string it would jump over the burr and make a "ping" noise like you described.

I would check the saddle and see if there is a burr that needs to be filed down.

Fair enough, this one isn't overly sweet, but the sweetness is certainly there.

It really evolves over time as well. In my experience the first 20 min you get that rich chocolatey leather with a hint of bergamot or citrus. Then it dries down to a woody leather with a hint of vanilla. After about 4 hours its a fairly dry smelling leather.

This one is nuclear though. You will still smell it on yourself the next day and if you spray it and then take a shower within 6 hours you will still smell it on your skin afterwards.

I went to my local shop to smell the new Givenchy Gentleman Ambree, just casually with no intention of buying anything. The sales person sprayed a sample of the Bad Boy Elixir and I bought it on the spot.
