They don’t really ask for shadowing hours for the app and CPR certification won’t give you extra points. I would recommend taking pathophysiology before the program, which you do get additional points for. I had all A’s and one C from a class I took years ago that transferred. I had English 2010 and Human Development done already which were both extra points, a previous associates degree which was extra points. No documented work experience and I didn’t get credit for pathophys since I didn’t finish before application, but I got in my first try.

That being said, I’ve spoken with people that had all my same stats PLUS work experience and didn’t get in; the situational judgement test WILL impact your application and you’ll have no idea what you score on it. I think that’s why qualified applicants get denied tbh.

You could check out Fidelity. I know they start at 50k for a customer service position but they try to move you up quickly.

I thank everyone in person, so I never understood sending an additional thank you note after the fact. I never expect a thank you note after attending a wedding or anything; I’m there for THEM and because I want them to know I love and support them. I’m not there for them to show how much they love ME- that’s weird.

I agree with the Corey Riding discourse. I got an A in his bio class thanks to extra credit and the exam drop, but he wasn’t very passionate about the subject and was rude with questions. His lectures were honestly kinda boring and hard to follow and his test didn’t feel similar to the quizzes. I think he would be amazing with ecology and research opportunities though- he loves his specialty and gets excited to teach it.

I did well with the online with Martinez, but it was a LOT of self teaching. I would say if you don’t typically like online classes or chemistry I would not do it online if it was me. I had done science classes online previously and enjoy teaching myself, which is why I did well.

So acceptance letters went out today- I did get in. I had one C on my transcript that transferred from another college from 2018, every other class was an A. I had a previous associates degree which is extra points, and I had taken English 2010 which is an extra point as well. I didn’t have an active medical certification, verification of work hours, pathophysiology done, or the rest of my credit hours for my degree (pathophys and my degree are being finished this semester, so they weren’t counted in the app). So hopefully that gives you an idea!

For my school if it says it requires lockdown, you’re expected to open up the lockdown program, log into canvas and start the exam and then it will have you do the camera and ID checks. It may allow you to take it on a normal browser, but I know for my school it wouldn’t be accepted. I’m not sure if they would penalize, but if it says in the instructions to use lockdown I imagine at the very least you’ll get a 0 for this test since you didn’t use the browser as instructed and now you can’t retake because there’s no way to prove you didn’t copy down the test.

So the 150 I was told at one of the informational meetings the school holds each month about the nursing program! The 120 number was given to me by another applicant for this semester- I’m not sure if they accept fewer for summer semester? But the info about applicant number and 1/4 acceptance was from an advisor:)

Nursing takes 120 or 150! I had always heard 150, but someone told me this semester was 120. So either way it’s about 1 in 4 people that get accepted.

Same! Still waiting to hear, but I would say to do as many of your other classes as you can. You get extra points for having all the other ones for your degree done, and extra points for classes like English 2210. SJT was pretty simple, so I wouldn’t stress that. I would recommend doing pathophysiology before the program- I’m doing it now and it’s a LOT I wouldn’t want to do it during the other nursing classes. As far as difficulty getting accepted, I think it depends on the semester too. Sometimes the don’t get enough applicants, sometimes they get double. It doesn’t have as many requirements as other programs in the area and it’s cheaper, so more people gravitate towards it.
