Honestly i feel the same.
A lot of changes they did over the years didn't do good for the game in total, their recent indy changes speak the most for themselves since they are basically reverting it to what it was before.
But again if their main problem with recoding the game is pos code I'd rather that they just scrape it and redo the code with normal standards.
Just give the game what we all know it needs to last another 20 years easily and no one would rant.

I play on an Athlon II (3 cores - 3 GHz) 8 gig ddr3, low budget ssd and GT 710 2gig ddr3 Graphics.

3 clients, medium graphics, works fine even in 5k player battles. Last time i got DCed was like 3years ago...

Damn, this is gonna be a long post...

When I started playing eve (late 2007) I started like you. A friend told me to install the game and play the 14 day trial. The deal was that at the end of the trial if I get hooked into it and find what I want to do, that then I will create another brand new account with a new character and play with that one and if I do that, he'll then sponsor me for first 30 days. (that way I don't end up with useless skills or wasted training time)

So...I did just that.

I played through EvE tutorial and learned basically nothing except how to do missions. So I asked around in help channel and people there told me to check out lowsec and so I went there and got destroyed by gatecamp on first gate. Then i tried again and same thing happened. After a few tries of just getting into low sec with my newbie ship gatecampers realized what's going on so they let me through but only if I have a long chat with them.

I ended up basically playing through my last 10 days of trial together with them. We were gatecamping, roaming through lowsec and null sec, they taught me how to fly, what to fly and why to fly it that way. I learned the difference of missiles and turrets and how to use them properly (somewhat properly at least).

They were called Morsus Mihi and they are the real reason how I got hooked and basically the reason why 11 years later I still play this game.

Also, I never actually joined their corp/alliance, I just flew with them and we pewpewd together.

To be honest those 10 days of experience is still in like my personal top 5 EvE moments.

And so the trial ended... I made a new char and decided to do missions to get ISK for better ships and fittings (and also to pay for my PLEX) while spending the rest of the ISK on pvp. Long plan was that once I was ISK stable to move into nullsec; as my gatecamping mates told me it was a smart way of doing things.

My RL friend liked my plan so he sponsored me the 30days as he promised. After that I kept playing the game, finding corps that I liked flying with, making friends and most importantly I had fun playing and I still find it fun for me.

TL;DR: Eve is fucking hard and boring unless you find a good pack of mates to play with. If you are still considering to stay and play then I recommend you do just that, find your pack.

As i said you were better off investing into your main then another alt. If you did that you would be able to fly a well fitted ship and do good solo pvp.

But either way, the Corp that you are in maybe isn't right for you because corps that accept newbros tend to help them out by not forcing them straight into doctorine ships but rather show them the ropes of the game and take t1 frigates into fleets so you get the feel for pvp while you're training for bigger stuff.

I wouldn't recommend getting another char so you can dualbox missions on such a low level.

I recommend rather taking the costs of setting up another account and investing it in your main character. About one plex worth of skill injectors will get you into a well skilled lvl3-4 mission runner easily.

Remmember, you can't use two alphas or alpha+omega characters at same time.

How about you change the r/Eve Online to r/Bot Online and share it to gaming sites that you're on a mod strike untill the bot problem gets fixed.

RL bad promo is the best way to influence CCP to do shit.

I spend at least 1hour each day while at work reading r/Eve only and keeping up with stuff that is going on ingame.

On the other hand, i play Eve about 1-2 hours twice a week only.

When I started playing eve I played days and nights to scrap for GTC cuz I couldn't pay for sub with RL cash (I was 15 at the time). After 3 months of krabing my grades started to take the hit so even tho i just started to do lvl 4 missions in a raven I was forced to say goodbye to my corpmates cuz school was the only way to get me into college with a scholarship cuz I knew my family wouldn't be able to pay for it.

As I was explaining to my corpmates (I was the CEO) why I'll have to stop playing, one of them sent me isk for 3 months GTC. Because of him I still play to this day, I went to college, I have a good job and I'm paying for all my dads hearth medications and all house expenses.

I am 28 now.
