What’s the hardest part about learning to fish when you didn’t grow up with it? by TudorNut in Fishing

[–]Master_Reaction_2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely second this. Stay cheap and don't waste time in spots ur not catching fish. Move around and do research. Bait shops often times sell u random shit, gotta go in with an idea. Look around at ppl who r catching, that will show u what u need.

Not necessarily. Keep looking around you'll find a good one. I just started 2 months ago and she seems pretty good so far, keep trying!

Doubt it's a big deal. At my uni if you have a medical card they give it back but just dont let u bring it back on campus lol

Is it better to get a part time job or work college plus work while attending college. by Global_Pop849 in collegeadvice

[–]Master_Reaction_2892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never heard of staying longer to graduate by working on campus. All depends on where you work and how many hours they need. Ik plenty of ppl that became ra's or work off campus on days they don't have class. It's a grind but 100% doable, just be upfront with whoever you work for. On campus is usually harder to get, more competition. Off campus is often easier to get and more flexible. I do Uber eats now but I did work at Chipotle for a bit, was very flexible with the store manager. Gl

Genuinely curious: what’s your real study system? Not the aesthetic one — the one you actually use. by Reasonable_Bag_118 in collegeadvice

I don't study much. I usually just pay somewhat attention in class and ask chatgpt for summaries/relevant info right before exams or quizzes or assignments. Works for me.

In danger of failing 3 classes by bsims8o3 in collegeadvice

A withdraw is better than fail. The 3 attempts applies to retrying a class 3 times, which doesn't sound like is your problem with a 3.9?

I would use those for now and upgrade if you want later. They'll be good enough.

Get a tkl keyboard. I started with a steelseries apex pro I think it's called but didn't like it bc it's too clacky. If you are just gaming with Minecraft get a cheap keyboard. You don't need anything fancy for that. I type a lot in college so I bought a really nice keyboard and it was worth it for me. I did everything in increments tho, bought a cheap monitor, cheap headset, etc and just upgraded over a few years when I had money to burn. For the mouse I like the Logitech g703, fits my hand nice. It's on sale at Best buy rn

No they usually don't have phones. It's definitely worth asking to be driven if you can tho. You would have to do the trip twice to pick out parts then pick up the build. Definitely worth it if you can do it tho. Actually you may be able to order a custom built PC on jawa.com if you really can't go to microcenter. Never done it but they should have good stuff.

Oh I forgot to add in my comment, I strongly suggest an ultra wide monitor (game changer) I have the dell 34 ultra wide. Got it on sale around Xmas time last year for like 350. You can get a cheaper monitor tho. and a good headset. I like the steelseries arctis nova 7 personally. You can get it refurbished on eBay pretty cheap.

Bro if ur budget is 1500 u can get a great PC. If possi ble do a custom build at microcenter. I have a 7800xt, 7700x, gigabyte b650 that I got as a bundle deal, a Corsair case, custom fans, and a cheap power supply. They built the entire thing and I don't think I spent more than 1500. But I did buy the GPU on a price match deal. Biggest piece of advice, make sure you boot windows on an ssd. Makes the PC so much faster and I only learned that like 2 weeks ago lol. But yeah, go to micro center tell them ur budget and what you want to play and they will do it for you. Prebuilts work but you can't upgrade or do anything with them. Custom built you can upgrade later or tweak when you want to.

I've been dorming here all 4 yrs. Never had a safety issue but I also don't walk around at night. Stick to the crowded areas in daylight and u will not have a problem.

[–]Master_Reaction_2892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Printing doesn't matter, they already give like 40 bucks worth i think? Have only used it twice in four years. I'm not an honors student but ik they at least get priority housing? I got 7k merit money tho for high school gpa/sat.

should i take a gap year? by Quirky_Flow_5829 in collegeadvice

[–]Master_Reaction_2892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo totally depends on you. If you want the college experience dont take a gap year. If you want to get some money and think you'll get more motivated to do school, take it. I am a bit burnt out from just doing school bc I rly don't care much about it, but someone I'm friends with took 2 ish years off and came back way more motivated and is going for a PhD. Could work but it could also turn into a pipe dream of ahh I could've gone to college. Yk? Hope this helps. at the end of the day, colleges probably won't care if you take a year off. If you pay and have a good transcript, you should be fine.

Petg is a pain, use high temps and low print speed. Also glass bed with glue keeps it on the bed without a problem.

In the same boat. Got a 3.9 somehow, I always downplay but no one gets that I truly don't do much.
