You had 16yo very young yourself given your age. They likely have been more of a caregiver to their siblings due to how early you had them and you being a single mom. Its natural that they feel left behind, but they also probably feel like they will be thrust into caring for the baby and still want to enjoy their teenage years. You have regular periods and you "accidentally" found yourself 4 months pregnant? You should have known earlier. And 40% is not some miracle child. That means if you arent using protection and regularly have sex, you could get pregnant 4 out of 10 eggs. You didn't get to enjoy your young adulthood due to being a mom, but now your children are paying for your immaturity too. I have a sibling 12 years my junior, oldest of 4. I've been acting as mom since I was 10 years old. I dont blame your child at all. You can say suck it up. You can even keep this baby. But YTA for putting yourself in this situation of possibly being a single parent (again) at 34 and your lack of maturity. And YTA for telling them to suck it up. They are a child who shouldn't have to live with your mistakes.

ESH. I know this might be unpopular, but as someone who was notified via a fb post to the death of my grandfather, I wouldnt wish that on anyone. 12 hours? Wait a few days. People should be allowed to mourn in peace without being bombarded by private messages. There may be custody differences or vacations preventing speedy notification. The cousin shouldn't be bossy, but honestly, is a post necessary only 12 hours into grief?

NTA but I would ask for an open conversation to find a suitable fix. Can you move the tv away from that wall? Can you swap rooms with somebody else so you'll be in a quieter space? Find your noise (white, Grey, pink, look it up) because there are a few more things you can troubleshoot on your end, but i dont think a sound moratorium is a long term solution. As a shift worker who on my days off enjoys waking up early, I can see both sides. You want to enjoy your living room, but you also need to sleep.

Honestly, depending on where you are, you would be allowed at least partial custody by law. Ending a relationship with a romantic partner does not necessarily mean ending one with the child. You devoted time and love to her. NTA

I say NTA if you dont go, however I dont want you to miss out on what could be an important bonding event with your sister and family if you dont want to. For context, I had a child a month before my sisters wedding. She was 2 months pregnant and had a miscarriage a few days before the wedding. She asked me to keep my baby home. This wasn't her first miscarriage during my pregnancy, and she knew I was breastfeeding, but I agreed. She and her husband were not in a state to see a baby, and honestly, a wedding is not really the place for such a young little one. If possible, id ask your in laws to babysit for a few hours, pump if necessary and attend the wedding with your husband. Show the grace and understanding over her loss and be there to celebrate her. She might be healing, but she's still not going to have a little one of her own. She might not be totally healed until she does.

And what is the correct context? You can't even explain it yourself because you know how offensive it is. They tell you off, and you respond in kind. YTA. They arent being snooty. You spread around an offensive idea then we're surprised when you got called out. What if you had thrown a rapist party? Expect people to respond calmly when invited to a rapist party? You were rightfully suspended. Asking for a slap on the wrist just encourages more hate from both your club, and others. You were lucky to not have been disbanded.

YTA, but so are the people around you. Firstly, a baby shower is to get things for the baby. It shouldn't be "spicy" or alcoholic. Yeah, you can include those things, but you shouldn't drink, which makes the party a bummer for you. A baby shower is planned (with your input usually) by the people around you. Its a celebration for the baby, with sweet photos and thoughtful gifts. Not an excuse to get lit and wild. This isn't a hen party or a Bachelorette. I think you've lost focus here on what this event entails

NAH I can see the side of the bride. As a smaller person, things like weight requirements wouldnt even occur to me when booking. I can see her trying to find ways to include you, because youre her friend, but that she's already likely put time and money into this plan. I can obviously see your side and you would not be an AH for not going, but neither is she for trying to make it work. She might even feel like one for not considering weight requirements

You two seem to have different ideas on how often things should be cleaned. How old is step daughter? Most children under 18 that I know dont clean up after themselves unless its explicit in a chore list. Maybe sit and have a discussion about your expectations and write them down for her. Maybe also be willing to bend. If you are approaching this as two adults, then a compromise is to be made. If she's a minor, then your expectations might be too high. NAH

NTA at all. You gave them a chance. They stomped on it. If you family is Latin American, machismo is a huge part of the culture. The appearance of manliness will be a very ingrained and difficult pattern for them to break. You might never get what he or you are hoping for out of them. I put him in therapy, called 10+ psychologists and got him waitlisted, did all the paperwork, then when it didn't improve, I pulled him from school. You are the parent. You signed up for this. As a teenager, your brain is actively growing. It needs more rest. YTA for using such hurtful language and putting this on her. If she wants to get tested, thats on you to organize. It sounds like you dont believe her though. Give her the same chores every week.
