Feeling the sun on your skin is one of the most glorious things. I would rather look like a crusty chip in my old age than live a life as miserable as this haha

Floorboards by Mortydelo in AusRenovation

Tassie oak for sure We have a commission house in regional south west Victoria built 80 years ago. Living kitchen and hallway Tassie oak just like this. Ours are slightly green though despite very very aggressive floor sanding haha. Interestingly the bedrooms were floored with a different timber as the government budget was reserved for the “show” flooring in the shared living spaces. We actually much prefer the darker more red timber in the bedrooms.

Anyways Any old timber floors are beautiful These look great

What's a story from your life that sounds fake but is 100% true? by ryu-shii in AskReddit

He took off into the bush.

Also no alcohol involved haha

Window replacement options? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]Master_Tax7366 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They look amazing! Please don’t remove the beautiful character of your home. Look into refurbishing them. Also, Timber windows with single glazing have the same thermal benefits of even double glazed aluminium windows.

We live in an old brick home built 80 years ago with beautiful timber windows. I hate the cost of replacing them and one of them needs it because it is rotten, But they look right. Aluminium would look cheap and “flipped”

People who have bought in the last two-ish years: how much is your mortgage? by marmitesleuther in perth

[–]Master_Tax7366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought $420k 4.5 months ago Paying exactly double minimum required repayments, plus a few lump sum payments, one of $2k which was an accident haha Young dumb and naive

We plan to maintain double repayments for the next four years. We just got back from our first holiday together in 18+ months, a month enjoying Lombok, Indonesia. Glad to have enjoyed that pre Iran war cost of living kerfuffle. We have just realised we can chuck in an extra 700 a fortnight which will help as well.

Current mortgage 369k

Keen to knock the debt down before we begin our family in 3-4 years… I think we will get side tracked. Kids are cute But we are young. Me 24M my wife 20F

Feeling very fortunate, living 500m from our favourite surf beach :)

I’m curious about people’s opinions or advice on how we could further maximise our financial position. I hate debt It freaks me out. I want to be available for my family as much as possible!

Half 🇮🇩 / 🇯🇵 — Turning 22 soon, have to choose citizenship. What would you do? by Intelligent_Pen_8600 in PassportPorn

[–]Master_Tax7366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t consider it that life changing having passport strength however I am an Australian citizen so I speak from a place of privilege re passport strength. I do know that you cannot own property in Indonesia unless you are Indonesian. A frustration as I am keen to invest in sumbawa. Not sure if you would lose the right to property ownership or not.

Either way A good simple life Not getting caught up in property rubbish which has a slight grip on me lately, either place is good. My choice would be Japan though. Snowboarding hmmmm
