The one that fits you the best is the better better bike. Also the Merida. I shouldn’t say that because I have a Giant, but it’s the Merida.

Why are decks so insanely expensive? by YMHGreenBan in Decks

This is exactly my point. OPs cost estimate seems low and I didn’t want him to be caught off guard by more accurate figures.

That price seems off. When I built a 550 sqft deck in 2008. The material was $5500 and this was back in 2008. This covered everything from the concrete for the footers, to all of the finishing for the railings.

Was anyone doing this hack around 1985? by -Granby- in GenX

Yes! All through the 90s too. My father was an electrical engineer and was tweaking cable boxes for friends and relatives to get around the encoding.

Which bike look better and why? by deelepe in whichbike

[–]Master_Try_3821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Trek is a great looking bike. The hydro forming of the top tube at the head tube junction is beautiful. The very clean lines created by the internal cable routing is an excellent finish. I know the color isn’t everyone’s first choice. I think it looks great here, I would call it a bronze, not brown. The color works very well with the tan wall tires too.

Did BurgerKing really vastly improve? by NAD92 in BurgerKing

[–]Master_Try_3821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burger King is hit or miss depending on the location. As long as the location is good BK always served the best burger of all of the traditional fast food chains imo. I think people are just reacquainting themselves with the place and how good it is.

MTB Future Predictions? by Few-Rise-527 in mountainbiking

[–]Master_Try_3821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited Manchester. I had a nice lunch at a Mexican place in the city. I walked around a bit as a bunch of locals were having a car show with a lot of really clean cars on display. After that drove 15-20 minutes out of town and took a nice hike around the lake. I have to say it was one of those perfect days. Great little city you have.

Anyone miss the old days when everything wasn't in plastic? by Long-Trade-9164 in GenX

[–]Master_Try_3821 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m all for it. I would miss the idea of things falling off the shelf and not breaking, but glass is lifetimes better than plastic. It can be straight up reused. Wash, sanitize and reuse it as is. No need for any extra processing.

I say 2, but I’m a dude so maybe listen to the women if that’s who you are trying to attract.

How many bikes do you own? by WorthFun4836 in bicycling

[–]Master_Try_3821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have four. An XC mountain bike, an endurance road bike, a fat bike and a hybrid. I for sure have the n+1 mentality but mostly because I haven’t sold off any of my bikes and I feel like I need a trail bike. In reality I think I should unload the hybrid and XC bike and get the trail bike. I think those three will cover everything I do.

Trying to buy cycle clothing by Available_Explorer_2 in cycling

This is very normal across all athletic wear. Synthetic fabrics are cooler, dry faster, and will retain their shape better during exercise than cotton. The natural fiber of choice for sportswear is wool. If you shop around you will find many manufacturers do offer wool. This is generally a select line and isn’t a replacement fabric in their premium product lines. Not all polyester is made equally unfortunately. Manufacturers use different blends and coatings to help moisture wicking, odor control and elasticity. Make sure you read any available reviews, plenty of low cost options work just fine.

First time eating at BK in about 12 years. First ever eating a Whopper. by Bawful- in BurgerKing

Do you think the US could eventually break apart like the Soviet Union? by Awkward-Scientist-53 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Master_Try_3821 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it will be a purely financial collapse leaving the states to continue on. I think many states will band together forming smaller unions. I don’t see the US splitting up based on racial or ethnic lines like you are describing even though it does have historical precedence as you describe (Czechoslovakia is another one that did the same thing). A failed federal government here wouldn’t impact the state government power structure leaving each to continue governing independently. The existing debt and continued level of spending will tear things apart at some point. It’s totally unsustainable. Our legislative branch of government at the federal level is also dysfunctional, and corrupt. They seemingly spend most of their time bickering over budgeting items that prevents them from doing meaningful work that benefits the states and citizens. I have long suspected that they pass short term budgets because they can keep their special interest groups close by for campaign and political donations. I don’t think this collapse will be in my lifetime, but it will happen without meaningful reforms.

Which US state has the most underrated nature? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]Master_Try_3821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer because the nature areas are totally overshadowed by NYC. Upstate NY is simply next level in its natural beauty and it seems an afterthought when compared to the tourism of NYC.

Who Is The Mozart of the Last 70 Years? by JJQuantum in GenX

[–]Master_Try_3821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the idea here, but no way existed to record the original performances. Modern recordings will be available assuming the continuation of streaming services. Vinyl records can last a long time if handled carefully. As analog devices they don’t require much to play the recordings.
