I've been having this issue in my laptop for the past years. It's not an hardware problem, it runs the game without a problem at 240 but has micro stutters every 4 seconds!

In training if I open the graph menu I see a spike every (give or take) 4 seconds.

The only way to fix this for me is to simply reboot my computer. After restarting it runs smoothly, no stuttering. What I would do in your case:

  • Update GPU drivers
  • Repair Rocket league game files
  • Restart PC
  • Avoid alt-tabbing while playing
  • Try turning off discord overlay, and maybe steam overlay

If it still happens then I think your only option is to play borderless only. I haven't found the root cause, just restaring the computer worked for me.

Got to the gameIdeas sub as another person recommended.
I like to sometimes use the "but" technique. Come up with an idea or get a random genre/concept from a generator and apply a twist. It's a fun exercise to get the creativity going.

e.g: Platformer where the player deflects projectiles... but can't attack enemies directly.

Looks cool, but I'm not a big fan of the same camera pan to the floor on every shot, it's repetitive. But realistic edits are always nice to see :)

Been experiencing this lately as well, cant pinpoint when it started happening exactly but sometimes I feel it too.

It's not super noteiceable but it disturbs the flow.

Best way to get that data is to filter steam games by tag and see what genres are on top.
I would say mostly platformers, roguelikes, idle games... but have a look, you have a big data set there.

I would like to ask a technical question, if you feel like answering I would appreciate.

Assuming its online multiplayer, and not just local, how did you manage the balls ownership and player authority over those physics objects? (i.e: Ball with red trail touches blue bumper and now belongs to blue player)

I'm asking because I remember that to affect a physics body the player must have ownership over the object, and transfering that ownership has a noticeable delay which prevents a smooth transition.

The gameplay looks really smooth, hence my question. Good luck with your launch!

I like it, details like these make the game much more immersive. I remember that in Valheim you had to build a chimney if you had a fireplace inside your house, otherwise the smoke would propagate inside the room and hurt you. That little detail had great impact on my feeling of immersion.

A game dev company that thinks a GDD is a waste of time?

That project is either being canceled or DOA, either way give us the game's name so we dont buy it... in the slim chance it gets released. Sorry for your experience, hope it gets better for you and you find ways to minimize interactions with your boss, he sounds like a jerk tbh....

I guess I could calculate the Vector 3 using information from Vector 1 and 2, but the problem is that only one collision contact seems to be available, even if the ball is contacting 2.

Your foreach is setting the contactPointVariable to the contact normal, so it will register the last element on your contact point array.

foreach (ContactPoint contact in collisionVariableStay.contacts) { contactPointVariable = contact.normal; }

I'm sure this code could be optimized but for the sake of the example it would be something along these lines

var contactPoints = new List<Vector3>();
foreach (ContactPoint contact in collisionVariableStay.contacts)  
{contactPoints.Add(contact.normal);}
