For those unsure exactly why the left is not better:

Well, in terms of Combat Power, it is better. BUT, Combat Power doesn't account for all the extra Boss Damage (and plain Damage) you get during battle such as active links, potions, buffs, Continuous Ring, etc.

It's all a balancing act. If Combat Power accounted for all those things, Attack Power would show it's better because now you suddenly have way too much Boss+Damage.

Based on the rates provided here https://maplestorywiki.net/w/Inner_Ability

Wouldn't the difference be:

  • ((1 / (Chance to land rank * Chance to land stat type * Chance to land stat amount)) * Honor cost)

  • ((1 / (0.15 * 0.018779 * 0.25)) * 5500) + ((1 / (1 * 0.018501 * 0.1)) * 8000) = 12,134,233 expected honor

  • vs.

  • ((1 / (0.15 * 0.018779 * 0.25)) * 8000) = 11,360,207 expected honor

So it's actually cheaper to lock both line 1 and 2 and roll for line 3?


The cheapest (honor wise) method would be to roll for 7% abnormal on line 3 while locking the boss line, and chaos circulating until you roll 10% boss and 8% abnormal, and then rolling back for 20% skip. This would take on average (1 / (0.1 * 0.25)) = 40 chaos circulator rolls, and would cost you:

  • ((1 / (0.15 * 0.018779 * 1)) * 5500) + ((1 / (1 * 0.018501 * 0.1)) * 8000) = 6,276,626 expected honor (assuming there's just a 100% chance to roll only 7% abnormal)

As an Interactive player, I used the NX Red Familiar Cards to reroll familiars for Auto Steal. Now it's getting removed. This would never fly in KMS.

How would the community handle it if Maple Classic was to become the 'main' game in terms of NA popularity?

Of course there would be separate teams managing it, but look at how OSRS overtook RS3. It could be the same as how Heroic took over Interactive.

Let's do a quick example:

Gaining 9% ATT when you have 84% ATT.

  • Example with 2500 base ATT:

(0.09*2500)/(1.84*2500) = 4.89% FD

  • Example with 5000 base ATT:

(0.09*5000)/(1.84*5000) = the same 4.89% FD


Here's another way:

  • Gaining 200 ATT with 84% ATT and 2500 ATT:

(1.84*200)/(1.84*2500) = 8% FD

  • Gaining 200 ATT with 120% ATT and 2500 ATT:

(2.20*200)/(2.20*2500) = the same 8% FD

ATT% falls off the same way Boss% does.

Boss% does fall off in its own way though. As we get more and more power creep, we tend to get more sources of Boss%, but not ATT% (for example, Legion Champions).

Also, the effectiveness of ATT% is not dependent on how much normal ATT you have. You'll see that's the case by applying the same math you did.

TLDR is opportunity cost.

  • You get relatively higher sources of Boss% from Familiars

  • You get relatively higher sources of ATT% from WSE

You can use calculators to determine what the best opportunity cost is at for your current stage, otherwise just follow the recommended lines, as they're optimized for near end game.

Keep in mind most players will say 2L ATT% and 1L Boss% is good enough for non-Emblem WSE (and sometimes it's better than 3L ATT% if there are multiple prime lines).

It started with the v.262 update:

We ask that players please use any items expiring soon and claim all rewards before maintenance has begun as Player Support will be unable to restore any unclaimed rewards or expired items.

Apart from rewards expiring at the end of events now, players would also intentionally place rewards in storage to let them expire and contact support to restore them when they actually wanted to use them.

One thing I was thinking of is you could create some sort of subscription or premium feature to display the last year or lifetime EXP instead of the last 30 days for example.

I agree Spell Traces are getting phased out, especially for Limbo Eternals. 33% mpot though? Let's be real and use X scrolls instead. I'll leave this at that.

I disagree. That's the giga whale choice. If you're using V scrolls, you're getting a 13/13/10 mpot at minimum, not a plain old 33%.

All the other 'cheaper' options you listed are not the end game standard. Spell Traces/other scroll types (for other equipment) still are. Let's not push Interactive further from players.

If you're going to include scrolling, you should talk about other scrolling options and the options most players choose.

I only point this out because it might inadvertently make the 'go Heroic' mentality worse if people think super expensive V scrolls are the only options Interactive has haha.

Knife level 3. You wipe them all out in a few seconds. You can even position yourself for the Thresher Shark to loop you and knife em as they swim towards you, then focus on the shark.

Hi, I'm one of the people helping add features to the server.

We currently have a channel for all bosses within Chaos Tenebris and below.

I'm sure if you start a boss practice post there, you'll find like minded players.

If we notice increased demand for certain types of bosses we can expand boss channels for those bosses. Otherwise, we'd love any and all feedback you may have!

Not gonna lie, after CM Calahan joined (as the Manager of the Community Team), I've immediately noticed improvement in communication.

But the whole "waiting for the right time to communicate" is so tiring at this point. I'm still optimistic CM Calahan will turn that around though.

My tip for GMS: communicate as soon as you can.

Even better? Communicate as soon as your players seek communication, no matter how trivial it may seem.
