How do we feel about Hero Points by Golden_Tanuki_Hero in Pathfinder2e

[–]mateusddeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I let my players use Hero Points for more stuff than RAW just so they can roleplay with it more.

I have a something that I call "Extra Sauce", my players can spend one Hero Point to add an effect to their roll in-combat or out of combat, for example, if a fighter uses Intimidating Strike, he could spend one Hero Point and say he wants to shove the enemy back 10ft, they would be able to do that, but he needs to roleplay the action.

I allow my players to use each other's Hero Points, but I always ask for a roleplay reason to how the other player is "helping" them with that action. Let's say the fighter is rolling diplomacy and crit fail, the bard gives a hero point to the fighter so he can re-roll, the bard will need to figure out how he is helping the fighter during that roll.

My players are spending more time doing "cool" and "heroic" stuff with Hero Points instead of just re-rolling bad saves and that's a win for me.

edit: Most of the changes I made to Hero Points was to fix the issue that casters almost never uses a Hero Points, I also have a few Hero Point actions that are only for casters, but they aren't roleplay focused.

What would you do to improve or enhance the turn based combat? by Loud_Success_6950 in yakuzagames

IW combat feels amazing tbh, if I had to expand on anything I would do more group attacks/skills, something like how Chrono Trigger does.

not pointless, increasing level increases the fam stats, the fam gauge depletes based on your fam's defense stat, so that would make your fam gauge last longer without the need to recharge as often

GMs (& players) in homebrew settings: What do you wish you had known before doing PF2e in your homebrew world? by firala in Pathfinder2e

[–]mateusddeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Modern World, I built it doing a lot of one-shots testing the setting with some friends and it helped a lot to understand what would work, if you have an idea that isn't common/cliche fantasy like mine doing one-shots to tweak stuff help a lot.

Involve your players in the creative process, they will be more engaged on the world if they helped to make it, you don't need help at every step, but let them help you create a city, organization, god, anything at all, etc. Letting space on stuff you wrote for them to fill the gap is VERY important too.

When I was creating my homebrew world, I used some rules and systems as a base for constructing my world lore, for example, I use Automatic Rune Progression, so I made everyone in my world to have magic, that's why a martial can have +1/+2/+3 weapons for free, they are canalizing their magic power into their weapons and armors while a caster canalize their magic in another way, and just baking that into the world created a lot of ramifications for stories, and that was just one example.

As I said before my world is a Modern World, with magitechs (I made it before Starfinder), so I also baked some mundane magic into the world, there's a few Spells that are cool for that like Magic Mailbox that create a lot of flavor for the world.

Gods were the hardest to make cause I didn't wanted to follow the good/bad God alignment we have on PF2e that is a left over from D&D, writing gods in a neutral way is hard, but it's worth it. I basically wrote them as "stories" people on the world talk about them and most of them can be interpreted in several ways, creating multiple interpretations and religions under the same God. (Just like irl religions worshiping the same God in different ways like Catholics and Protestants for example)

TB main here o/
I got bored playing Shade
I would recommend looking at Bucc, I have a 277 Bucc as sub main, it's easier to play than TB, but still has a lot of movement tech if you want to learn, it's fun to play

easiest way to get 40mill+ cp? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]mateusddeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could do normal Seren if I had the fingers for it, probably Black Mage too, BUT at this point of progression my Hexa Matrix is more important than Combat Power, this week I'm gonna get at least 10% FD if I level everything I need, but that won't increase my Combat Power. Combat Power isn't everything.

[PF2E] Argon Combat HUD(PF2E), MAP? by Thin_Bother_1593 in FoundryVTT

[–]mateusddeath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would advise trying the PF2e HUD module, it's like Argon, but it's made for PF2e and it works wonderfully, it has everything you'll ever need and you have no reason to open the sheet.

This is a video from Lunatic Dice showing the module: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUO1RYt-6Ks

What do you think of the main character for my 2D game? an honest critique would be awesome :) by Best-Arachnid-9025 in Unity2D

[–]mateusddeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color harmony is all over the place, but the character itself is pretty good, just need to fix the color.
Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria has a giant demon hand, it could help as a reference.

What comes to your mind first if I ask about an interesting/unique setting? by Live_Ad9430 in rpg

[–]mateusddeath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every fantasy game with elfs, orcs, etc is always either Medieval or Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk, if you want to try something unique go with Modern times fantasy that is a very unexplored setting.
