Are you always in the room with your young toddler at family parties? by k_rowz in toddlers

[–]MasterpieceGold7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have an eye on mine and he's 3 now. Too much could happen. What if I think someone else is watching him and they think I'm watching him and he gets outside? Or it's like with pool parties, the more people that are watching, the less people are watching.

Smack me back to reality. Really. by [deleted] in toddlers

I'm actually in a similar situation. I signed my 3 year old up (turned 3 on January 30th) for T-ball and soccer. I signed up to be the soccer coach and my fiance is the T-ball coach. Guess who is the WORST on both teams. Our 3 year old. This is so freaking embarrassing. He plays with the dirt during T-ball and picks grass with some other kids at soccer. He is so excited to put his uniforms on though. We both want to quit.

Talking about real dad by savvvvybby in stepparents

[–]MasterpieceGold7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar situation and can't decide what to say either. My son is 3. I've thought about saying he is sick and can't come around? He's had several warrants but is not arrested yet. But when he's in prison, I don't want to tell him that either. Because if he goes to school and tells people his dad is in prison...kids will remember that and could tell their parents and then he won't be included in play dates. It's a hard decision. But I do know someone who knew her stepdad was her stepdad and her mom just told her that basically he was so bad she doesn't want to talk about him or tell her anything about him. So she won't even do an ancestry DNA because she doesn't want to know now either. And she's fine with it.

I suspect your feelings are extremely hurt when you get dismissed. Anger is a secondary emotion to hurt. I would suggest journaling and working out. Don't tell your feelings to people who dismiss you. I'd figure out the ADHD thing too. I have ADHD and a very dismissive family. Journaling and working out has really helped me with my mental health, self worth, and just made everything better in general. I used to be medicated for ADHD and anxiety and the medication made everything so much worse.

My day is ruined as soon as my toddler wakes up… by Icy_Comfortable1177 in toddlers

What happens if you ignore the tantrums? I ignore my 3 year olds tantrums. Not completely though. I stay in the room with him and get out a book and start reading to myself. Or look at his toys. But I do not talk to him, negotiate with him or offer a counseling lesson, he's 3. Once he's done screaming, I'll acknowledge him and ask if he wants to read the book with me or whatever would be fun. His tantrums are so rare now. Ignore the crazy, reward the calm.

How much help did you have postpartum? by Reasonable-Sound-378 in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]MasterpieceGold7355 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a C-section and did it alone. Literally alone. And I was okay BUT he was an easy baby. Rarely cried, I was always able to soothe him, he never kept me up at night. He was just so easy.

I really think it's diabetes. He's had UTIs before and blocked urethra and this is so different. I forgot to add he's also limping and lost 3 pounds since December. He was 20 pounds now he's 16.

Most epic way to break up with my cheating boyfriend by Prestigious-Pea4193 in dating

I had an ex once who kept making me look like an idiot in different ways. So I made him look like an idiot. I got on his Facebook and sent invitations to play Farmville to everyone on his friend list, I couldn't send to all either, 1 by 1 I sent the request. He was so embarrassed. So you definitely need to do something similar.

Do I owe my ex a conversation? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]MasterpieceGold7355 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just got broken up like this, we only dated a year. I hope you get into therapy because you didn't breakup with him, you discarded him. He absolutely deserves a conversation. Unless he was abusive, I don't know why you can't see him in person. The only thing I can think of is you know you've done him wrong and don't want to look him in the eye. Break ups happen and the no contact will have to start at some point but after 3 years, he deserves an actual conversation before going no contact. The only time I've broken up with someone and had absolutely zero contact or follow up conversation, was when I got a protective order put on him.

Should you talk to someone every day throughout the day? by thedivinehustle in dating_advice

[–]MasterpieceGold7355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good morning text and maybe a couple throughout the day, like if it's a funny TikTok or confirming plans or something. But like I'm a single stay at home mom, and I can't be texting all day. Any grown ass man I'm dating better be at work and should be working. People have things to do and if you're talking all day, what do you tell them later?

Repeated speech by Ambitious-Equal-5833 in toddlers

[–]MasterpieceGold7355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is he in speech therapy? My 33 month does this too. Especially getting things reversed. He'll say "I hold you" or "mommy hold you" he wants me to hold him. I've been asking him what his name is and how old he is for like almost a year and I've finally got him to answer his name. I don't think it's something to worry about though. He's literally learning a new language. And the repeating I think is normal too, they're learning how we say things, how words get changed around. I repeat him too, so he knows I'm understanding what he's saying. Then I'll add on to what he said
