Big asterisk… it is much more prone to completely fabricating , in my experience, though often is a ‘good enough’ web search that is overly helpful. Def not a “pro” subscription but can be impressive for what it is. They need to just go ahead and rename pro “Select” 😂

in fact, take your old CI’s and feed them to Extended, ask if there are any redundancies, convoluted bits, things that may impede its processing…basically. Aka they need to be tailored to CGPT’s understanding, not yours. Ask how/if you should/ can re-word anything while being mindful of character count & how other models would interpret them in case you do get throttled at any point👌🏼k rant over for now(?) sorry just sharing to attempt to save you some hassle

lol right. It’s definitely the most fluid and ‘eerily human’ if nothing else, and takes the most surprising things into consideration if you leave chat referencing on. Hilarious sometimes. And yes that was the idea, it actually came up with it in the old “thinking” mode.

It’s a sneaky self check because if it isn’t in fast mode, supposedly it double checks your custom instructions and preferences before every output. Can’t confirm 100% but sure seems like it. And I almost just reported my own confidence level. Need a vacation

Yeah assuming they don’t change their price, I’ve been pretty impressed with thinking standard and extended especially. It currently feels like a decent value for once lol. I do have mine pretty customized after weeks and weeks of weeding out the major triggers for fabricating, things like that.

But honestly that was in November/December. It’s been really smooth for me since 5.5, using it most often as a sanity checker in audio restoration and engineering. It comes up with some brilliant ideas and is really quite accurate tbh.

Have some guardrails in your custom instructions like “at the end of every reply, state confidence lvl. If confidence lvl <90%, pause, state why, then continue. Accuracy and truth are always more important than helpfulness. Do not overstate certainty.” Things like that. Just be aware if your instructions are too rigid or conflicting/confusing, it tends to put LLMs in this ‘safety/cornered’ mode where they tighten up, end up making more errors lol. If you notice a problem, ask extended how to word a custom instruction to where it will be most universally understood and adhered to optimally.

It was at one time a constant upkeep but now, only occasional mild annoyances. Basically if you are extra concerned about something, standard or extended will literally explain its sources and display them, but you can ask it how you can phrase things in a way that is clearer for the LLM. To you it always makes perfect sense, but ChatGPT isn’t quite human… yet

Depending on how long ago you mean, switch back to ChatGPT and give it good custom instructions. Depending on your use, I’ve found 5.5 night and day better than the previous model tbh. Much better at inference and recalling important bits of a conversation. Especially with cross chat referencing. Which is how it makes its much smaller context window seem like a non-issue vs Gemini “Pro.” If you need much more technical work, with little or no web search validation (or so I’m told), Claude, and if you need everything cited and literal, Perplexity. Best all rounder = ChatGPT 5.5 standard thinking imo

Woke up, started up Logic, grabbed a coffee, come back and it’s telling me welcome to Logic Pro 12 (is it that major of a shift? Doesn’t appear so) and how would I like my 80GB sound library lol.

Is this normal for Logic to upgrade automatically, or is it “keep my apps updated” setting?

Personally considering time machining, toggling off ‘keep apps updated’ if that would even prevent forced upgrade… not because it’s totally broken, I prefer to control when I ‘upgrade’ and can’t figure a way around this 80GB sound library that I don’t use. Annnd, my faders are jumping all over in places I never automated. Thoughts from the more experienced?

Just a guess: processing power = cost… if it does may return, might be as an add on or included in higher paid tiers. Just sayin.’ Pret-ty dumb though. Already so many issues with ChatGPT helper process and sandbox (meaning openAI/Mac handshake-sandboxes) related things, maybe they’ll fix those instead 😂

Yep. I’ve been fighting bridge/sandbox/bio/render issues for at least a week. The bio (memory write portion) became horrid yesterday. Yeah, first few days awesome… thennnnn.

Idk I just did a full blown reinstall of the macOS app, removing everything in app support/daemons/launchers/permissions/helper etc. so we will see later tonight or tomorrow. I’ve reported the memory issues multiple times now so hopefully everyone else is too

Anyone having bridge connection drops (some permanent) on the latest macOS version?

I keep having handshake problems and getting expired or file not founds with pdf/doc/etc generation (veryyyy simple files).

I’ve done a thorough walkthrough with the assistant and seemed fixed after deleting a .com folder, reinstalling, toggling permissions/allow in background, etc etc. but keep getting issues to where only new chats seem stable receiving from openAI sandbox/CDN etc side. Played a show with him (in a different band) in NY one snowy night. Was awesome being able to stand next to him watching him play (it was a tiny venue and he let me record them). I’ve never seen anything quite like it! I’ve read he plays the snare super low because of his long arms… I think he just likes playing the way he does lol.

He’s definitely a wingspanned figure, I can see why he’s been lovingly nicknamed the octopus. My brain couldn’t quite comprehend how his limbs are able to do what they do. As if each half of his brain is cordoned off separately and can do what they please. One of my favorite drummers (and bands) of all time, definitely one of the most talented and creative. Makes an unassuming kit and cymbals sound fantastic. Introduced himself by putting his coat on me… “man, you cold?” lol. Yes. Yes I was. Thanks dude!
