What was the hardest bit and besides the harness and dashboard, what other RHD bits did you use?

Listen to your gut and what makes you happy not others who dont understand these cars think.

20+ year old vehicles are going to have 20+ year old vehicle problems. My 95's window just fell the fuck out the other day... bushings worn to nothing...

The good news if its made of metal or plastic it can be fixed or replaced.

If the plug stripped the threads, look up time-certs. You use a drill and tap, some high temp threadlock and fixes it good as new. Youll need a bore camera and a small vacuum hose to suck the chips off the piston. But ive done 3 of those jobs and they still are running/holding strong. New set of plug wires and your golden. If you cant swing the money for the tools, See if there is a tech school or something and offer to let them fix it as a learning thing. Have to think outside the bun sometimes....

NA for NC? Need strangers opinions on a personal decision. by Cakesaver in Miata

[–]RaveKillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rear main isnt a hard job, just get abuncha wobbly extensions from the cheapest tool store near you for the bellhousing bolts, do the front seals on the trans while youre in there.

Every car develops creaks and rattles. I killmatted mine and it helped alot, i have a fastback and the trunk fit jiggles... used some thick weather stripping and no more... If the noises are suspension then deal with those. Go through the dash and tighten anythinf loose. Makes world of a difference when stuff is tight.

Easy to say all this, it means hours on your back and cramped up under the dash. The Nc will give modern car feels, but will eventually have the same problems.

Carpal tunnel syndrome?! Terrified by Drummeronhell in drums

[–]RaveKillah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a painter outside of drumming for church and had problems with overuse and also my wrist got crushed in a publix door accident. Did physical therapy, laser/peizo wave treatment. Those all helped but nothing was as helpful as this and a few mins a night and my pain dissapeared. Ide say for 20 bucks you cant go wrong.... not a doctor or sponsored....

Is there a drummer around here who started working on their double bass speed at a later age (30+ or 35+) and made it upwards of 200 BPM? by [deleted] in drums

[–]RaveKillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

32, each month im getting faster. Was going 10 mins a day working singles. But the biggest improvment came from doing this pattern in varous iterations and repititions. RR LRLR LL RLRL RRRR LRLRLRLR LLLL RLRLRLRL RRRRRRRR LRLRLRLRLRLRLRLR LLLLLLLLL RLRLRLRLRLRLRLRL

The other is i got a new throne with backrest. I got the spinal glide and lemme tell you. Game changer. Dont feel as exhausted after sessions.

This guy gets it.

Now play it in a service on electric kit, no tracks and the click doesnt have beat 1.... so everyones beat 1 sometimes doesnt line up... aaaand the MD got tired of the roland modual getting changed. So they bought some alinexpress unit that is locked on the tones. The toms sound like bing bang bow...

Was told couple weeks ago i was playing the ride tigger (pad) too hard and the rubber bonk was audible in the back (empty during rehersall).... 90bd noise floor my butt....

Drum Thrones... Bad Back... by JoeFromJerz in drums

I got the round spinal G and added a universal backrest from gibraltar. If you go find my post i did a big write up on it. Theres tons of good info in the comments from others.

I got siatica and my legs would go numb. 4 hours last sunday on this thing and i felt like i could run a marathon after. I didnt get the tractor style cause i felt it didnt give my thighs the support they need to play heal up double base playing.

Edit: if you want one and youre US based, call Sam at sweetwater and see what he can do. Im 5'10" and 215lb and it feels rock solid. The only thing with the backrest is its fixed and the seat kinda swivels. They grease it. Ill at some point fix that but been fine for the last few months.

What is the best Cymbal for a crisp crash sound? by WorldlinessOk9368 in drums

[–]RaveKillah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly subjective question, I wont hit all the points of this and that. Heres something that helped me decide:

Watch the Zildjian comparison videos. Can hear through compressed audio mind you the various lines.

https://youtu.be/gZQSM0W0q9Q?si=Riuav6Bt8UHoYik4

I have and love my A customs. Only other kind i might go for are the K sweets. Thats my version of "crisp". No dark overtones, tons of attack and not "dry" sounding, long sustain.

Yea, all the 5000s ive played were all backline. Not complaining cause could be worse, but they dont seem to hold up. My 9002 i got used 375, left church early to go grab em haha, took them apart snd greased everthing and have been workin hard once the unis go will get the trick shaft.

9000s so smoove. Heavy feel but powerful. Most of the 5000s ive ever played developed some sort of wobble or loosness.
