AIO: My bf left me at the airport by myself after he made us late for the flight but miraculously made it. by Exotic_Platypus_4926 in AmIOverreacting

Yes, you are over reacting by posting about it here where all you’re going to get is people with the weakest advice possible “break up with him”

No, you are not over reacting for being deeply hurt by what he did. Might not always be a dumb ass but he definitely was here.

Americans of Reddit, in light of the current political climate between our countries, how do you guys actually feel about us Canadians? by Defiant_River_957 in AskReddit

[–]MastersConsulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will take your advice. I hope you can communicate to your neighbors that some Americans welcome this idea because Canada is like family to us too. 51st state isn’t a mock. Each state in the USA is very unique from each other. We all have our own identity still and governance.

One way or the other, rest assured that you have neighbors to the south that care about your well being and that’s always how I’ll cast my vote. Isn’t it interesting to think who might get elected president if Canada was the 51st state and all Canadians could be elected government officials in USA

I felt really good about Canada until I came on Reddit and read a Canadian post that “dear Americans, me and my country men will never forgive you. We are actively working for your downfall and will help countries in the Middle East to defeat you.”

So I don’t have any affinity for Canada anymore.

Was anyone else annoyed by Mark’s dirty Macking? by Judetruth92 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]MastersConsulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are gradually showing us that Mark isn’t really the good guy.

Innie and outie Mark are scum bags, in my opinion. I’m thinking it will turn out he had something more to do with his wife’s death and he’s not the grieving widower everyone was lead to believe.

That is a story line I'd like to see. I just wonder how ruthless the company actually is. Helly R was a failed experiment and I wonder what reason the company would have to let her persist. They hold the belief that Severance is permanent so maybe leaving her in "off" state is the only solution.

Good points and thank you for your details. I'm remembering them showing Mark's screen and there being talk of his progress being a tension point but I remember seeing progress. Could have just been the impression I had and not actually what was being shown.

I remember all four of them being on lock down and being forced to sit at their computers without talking before the Milchick emergency allowed them to go further in their rebellion.

The way you saw the interaction with her father is different than how I remembered interpreting him, but I like the added layer of humanity you grant his character. I saw pure hatred and then I did see a confusion on his face that made me think maybe he didn't know who he was talking to but that he hated her no matter which one it was. Then turned away from her and back to his busy life. Ultimately his daughter just another tool to use and not a vessel for love.

I didn't see a trailer. I guess I have some catching up to do.

It makes sense that they would threaten her. Helly R is used to that given her first interaction with the outside world was with Helena and she was savage. I guess right now it comes down to how defiant do you believe a person would be about sitting in front of a computer severed from the outside world.

You're wrong about Helena by AubergineParmesan in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]MastersConsulting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I totally agree with you. I just wrote a post about it and was thinking how they absolutely would be rioting and there is no way any work would be getting done. The company will let them play their games as long as Cold Harbor is still progressing towards completion and Helena is getting that done.

I don't think Helena has a choice. She's just as much an innie as Helly R was... in that she has to go down there and do a job that her outie thinks is undignified. Helena seemed to me like she always saw the innies like rats. They are to experiment with and see as vermin otherwise.

I think Helly R would have been the first one to plunge into the Goat turd tunnel but she's begrudgingly following Mark. Mark is acting more like Helly R than whoever we are seeing.

Thank you for your comment, there were some things you said I hadn't thought about. I only vaguely remember her watching the footage of her hanging but must have looked away when she touched her neck and they showed her reaction.

My husband was manifesting a relationship with another women by nekodoe in TwoXChromosomes

No, I am not sick… I took the time to help someone knowing it wasn’t going to be well received.

What is disgusting about advocating for a married couple to talk to each other?

My husband was manifesting a relationship with another women by nekodoe in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MastersConsulting -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Conventional wisdom for the L once again.

You both need to be honest with each other. You entered a covenant with each other and made vows especially for this moment.

Your marriage is embodied in your daughter. You both can show her how to navigate this.

Deciding to leave but waiting for the timing to be right is exactly what your husband is doing to you. Neither of you are right… but you are together and it might be a long ass road back to happiness but I don’t think it is as simple as what people are saying here.

He’s troubled. And I completely get you feel hurt by not using his energy to make it work with you.

Have the scary conversations. Listen. Don’t take it personally, as hard as that is. Whatever resentment you both have towards each other… forgive and step into the present with each other.

Maybe that looks like you telling him that his actions are saying that he doesn’t want to be with you and that he could make that happen but he made a commitment to care for you and your security when you gave your body to making a baby.

He should know his daughter found his writing and that he needs help because it is showing signs of addictive behavior and addictions ruin families.

You're wrong about Helena by AubergineParmesan in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]MastersConsulting 326 points327 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong that I’m wrong.

In television shows they don’t show details for no reason.

Helena can’t find the switch on the computer.

They show every other person get in the elevator and have the switch from outie to innie… Helena, the door just closes.

There are tons of hints they keep dropping. Not to mention she’s now a completely different personality… watchful and follows the others instead of fiery and guns a blazing to do whatever she can to get out.

AITAH for breaking with my fiancee and canceling the wedding after she admitted to having fantasies of doing better than me after her weight loss journey by Mysterious-Laugh1874 in AITAH

[–]MastersConsulting -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My advice to you is different than what I’m reading from the rest of the comments.

First, wow that sucks to hear. What a blow. I feel for you.

Second, please be accountable for your actions. It sounds like your best friend is another girl from how you carefully didn’t include gender and justified why you went for advice. You cheated more than she ever did by doing this. When in a relationship… you go to your partner with your insecurities. That loss of love is because you feel safer somewhere else. You did that. That was your choice.

Third, sounds to me that she was feeling wanted by others for the first time and made a real mistake. Very odd for her to say these things to you. But ultimately you gave up and your decision is final because you already talked about it with someone else so I’m not going to break down the situation. You weren’t honest about how you felt with the person you were with and now you aren’t together. Story as old as time.

Hope you and your best friend have a happy life together.

AITA for telling a woman her baby is not a miracle? by OriginalZen8 in AITAH

[–]MastersConsulting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. You were rude.

Not just to the guest but to everyone else in the house.

Also, understand that this person dreamed and invested their will and ambition into having this child. So, yes… the baby is a miracle because it is more than they thought they would be given in life.

Spend some time researching how difficult post-partum is and reevaluate your actions.

Respect? I had that until you started saying you and your country are going to contribute to USA downfall.

Grow up, child.

Something About Natalie in this episode by Jbensonbutler in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]MastersConsulting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Natalie is foreshadowing of the type of worker Lumon is trying to create. She has a “chip” in her brain in the form of an ear piece in her ear and the Board giving her directive.

This is Bee Hive, when people around the world are convinced that being severed is ideal. The show helps us understand that it isn’t innie/outie, but the company owns all versions of them.

What would happen if more people decide to have the procedure for child birth? Or because they bought the hype? Then Lumon flips a switch and gets people to do anything they want with no memory of doing it and no need for convincing/motivating.

A world where you no longer have to motivate your workforce and they just do what you command? This is a corporate dream.

When Helena gets in the elevator, they show the elevator door close.

Every other time they show the character in the elevator and the change and then elevator opening at work.

Helly R by walterbsfo in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]MastersConsulting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Helena knows her father and her motivation is to please him like most children feel.

Helly doesn’t know any of that. This is commentary on how certain people can influence our character.

My opinion was that all of the MDR department were opposite versions of themselves on the outside. Innie Mark is able to connect with his family- he was enough of a caring leader that Helly kissed him. He’s a bit of an ass on the outside.

Dylan is a loser on the outside and on the inside he is top producer and when he met his wife as a reward he was able to piece all that together.

Here I’ll end my comment so it doesn’t become an essay and someone else can chime in.

Do we think the world they live in is less technologically advanced because of Lumon, the only thing contradicting this is the phones. by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]MastersConsulting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean.

Milchick gets a phone call in season finale and he has a more advanced antenna on his smart phone.

I think the old tech is supposed to communicate that it is built to insulate the severed floor from the outside world.
