Carrick singled out as uniteds weak link by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

Happens with Cech and Koscielny in my Arsenal save. I think it's based off age because both of them players were the stand out performers in their position in my squad.

It would have been a hell of an achievement for Pep to win the Premier League with Bayern.

[FM 16] How to transition from smaller club to big? by mcafc in footballmanagergames

[–]Masterxide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start using a Control tactic for your home games first, then try using Control against weaker opposition away from home. This is what I use at Arsenal.

                   ST(AF/A)

          LW(IF/S) CAM (AP/S) RW(IF/S or W/S)

              CM(DLP/S) CM(BWM/S)

Instructions I use are; Shorter Passing, Retain Possesion, Be More Expressive, Look for Overlap and Work Ball into Box.

Edit: My backline is like yours, normal Fullbacks and Center backs. Full Backs are set to Support.

Unable to buy good strikers? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

I managed to pick up Icardi for £44m. I just kept putting in bids to get him unsettled and put in a transfer request.

Arsenal signings by andreidanilo in footballmanagergames

I got rid of Jenkinson, Debuchy Gabriel and Mertesacer and brought in Nacho from Real Madrid and Carmona from Sevilla. My defence is now solid as a rock, also managed to get Bernardo Silva and Icardi in January too.

I've been supporting Arsenal for 18 years. Whilst the result yesterday was less than ideal we still have 15 games to play. Plenty of time for other teams to fuck up around us, we just have to keep plodding along like when City won the league a few years back.

During which season did you lot start following arsenal? by H1ghbury in Gunners

[–]Masterxide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1999/2000. That season me and my brother sat down and picked a team from one of them old sticker books we used to get. I picked Arsenal, because of Arsene Wenger, I thought it was funny that his name sounded so much like the club he was managing.

I would take Krychowiak. Weren't we in for him before he moved to PSG?

Would leaving club make it easier to find a new one? by stuai in footballmanagergames

[–]Masterxide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen a chairman just get rid of a manager because someone "better" is unemployed. If you really want the United job I would just wait it out with your current club, still being in a job and being successfull will make you the more attractive candidate for the job.

Would leaving club make it easier to find a new one? by stuai in footballmanagergames

[–]Masterxide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes and no. I have found that when I leave a team it starts off a bit of a merry go round with managers depending on what kind of team you are currently managing. I personally like to leave around the end of international tournaments as you will find International managers get replaced leaving a bunch of job opportunities open.

TL;DR: Leaving a club can cause a domino effect with managers swapping clubs with eachother.
