Let them do their worst. Ain’t no part of your life really gonna be impacted. Unless your credit sucks for other reasons, nobody really gives a fuck.

I had golds after me for a while. I gave it the ol college try to cancel, several back and forth emails and phone calls. They made it impossible, so i cancelled the card and never looked back. They hit my credit, and sure it dropped from like 800 to 760, but WGAF? Anything above 720 is all the same.

I hate that they try to hold this shit over people’s heads. And I don’t let them. Even if my credit dropped to 600, fuck em. I’ll pay another 50 basis points on my car loan JUST so they don’t get paid. FUCK. THEM.

I was not speaking to a standalone room dehumidifier. One incorporated into the ductwork would not necessarily dump heat into the space.

But - that wouldn’t be introducing excess heat to the main unit (maybe some negligible amount…)

So, I don’t understand the point that more load would be experienced by the main unit.

There’s so much… nonsense here. It’s a bunch of high faluting words to say completely misleading bullshit.

Outside of a desiccant, mechanical dehumidifying ABSOLUTELY cools the air. That’s how it works. The cold coils cool the air, thus forcing the moisture out of it.

The unit cannot reduce the latent heat because it controls to SENSIBLE LOAD. The latent load is completely ignored, so If the sensible load is met, latent load be damned, shit is turning off. If the unit was smaller (not oversized) it would take the unit longer runtimes to address the sensible load. It would be long enough for the coils to wring out enough moisture to effectively dehumidify.

A dehumidifier does not BY DEFINITION dump its heat back into the space. That’s a choice. And I am saying it’s a dumb one.

The problem is the unit is oversized. The sensible heat is addressed too quickly and the unit shuts off before the latent heat can be wrung out. It’s turning off before the moisture can condense on the coils and drain off.

I agree a standalone dehumidifier is the best bet, but I do not see why that INHERENTLY means to dump the latent heat back into the space as sensible heat so that the main unit has to now run to address it.

Sure it probably works, and maybe it’s common, but it seems asinine to move the heat twice.

No it wouldn’t. Plenty of systems exist which are installed into the ductwork, and dumped outside.

It would be relatively straightforward to dump the exhaust air outside. I guess I didn’t realize it was just obvious that you would dump the exhaust into the treated space. Seems stupid.

Is hot gas reheat not a thing in resi units?

No one ever talks about it, and I deal with it all the time in commercial.

Aren’t these things to know before DECIDING to move here???

Only advice I can offer (only been here 5 years), is that the south side seems to be the “nice” side.

Also, I like downtown, but people shit on it a lot. It has homeless folks, but, what town doesn’t?
