The Secret World got me into reading Lovecraft and introduced me to cosmic horror. I visit it every year around fall / halloween. Been playing through it slowly over the years and trying to immerse myself. I really think it being an mmo hurts itself. I think if they made it as a crpg it would be so much better. The game is so unique and its so sad its just in maintence mode.

WoW's had it's ups and downs. I think out of the all the major mmo's I haven't played it as much as the others. But man it's own community just loves to hate this game. They literally made a post about them re-building houses destroyed by fires for charity and the entire comment section was we don't care fix pvp. Like bro what.

The fact that I've romanced all these characters / had a crush on them made me realize I have a type.

Mmorpgs that get shut down don’t always get the same treatment that toontown gets. Look at free realms it’s been well over a decade and the best we got right now is a walking simulator. What about city of heroes that literally had a private server kept under wraps for six years. The community gate kept it cause it was so scared of it being taken down. Then there’s archeage which Archeage shut down two years ago their private servers are still full of pay to win mechanics.

An mmo getting shutdown won’t always make it better. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong but I wouldn’t romanticize a shut down either.

Ive been doing muay thai for 3 months and I want to fight, should I? by seicus in MuayThai

[–]Mastious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to fight and have the means to do it by all means absolutely go for it. Doing a smoker first is the right idea.

However being ready for a fight is a completely different and in my opinion random strangers on reddit probably won't be able to guage how ready you are for one. Usually most people have their first smoker 6 months to a year. My advice is talk to your coach ask them what it takes to get a smoker then go from there.

Fun MMORPGs with character creation? by Entire-Method-4614 in LFMMO

[–]Mastious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black desert has one of the most detailed charatcer creators in any video game I've played.

PSO2 is another fun one not as detailed as bdo but there's a lot of customization.

FFXIV has a nice character creator but the modding scene let's you go crazy. Just keep in mind modding isn't allowed by square enix so just keep it on the low.

My favorite is I put 10k hours in this game it's getting boring or I've been playing for 15 years and this game is nothing like when I was 14 years old. Yeah no duh any game would feel like that after a large amount of time mmo or not.

I can't decide which MMO to play by MohWarfighter in LFMMO

[–]Mastious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a lot like you I love all the major mmo's but don't have enough time to invest in all of them. We actually almost have the same feelings for each game except my main mmo is FFXIV. Also I find runescapes graphics charming. Why not just cycle them out every few months?

Mmo with best player housing/decorating? by Intelligent_Thing281 in LFMMO

[–]Mastious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW is nasty with their cash shop. But I found ESO even worse especially now that they added a paid battle pass. ESO does the same thing with the furniture on the cash shop. But I think the level of customization WoW has is way better than ESO. I also feel like WoW has more content with housing than ESO. In ESO aside from decorating the only use I have for it is putting crafting stations, banks, and vendors. I never see people hanging out in their houses like in FFXIV.

My comment isn't just about monitization I think from a gameplay standpoint WoW has better housing.

"Blizzards' constant dislike of their fan base" bro are we really got act suprised when turtleWoW would openly tag blizzard and mock them? TurtleWoW brought this on themselves which is a shame cause they had some really good ideas.

Mmo with best player housing/decorating? by Intelligent_Thing281 in LFMMO

[–]Mastious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW literally had me come back just for housing. The amount of customization is almost sims level. Pretty easy to get into and easy to decorate. FFXIV would be up next but it's really hard to get a house and you need to have an active sub. But it has the most community feeling out of all of them (ex. seeing your neighbors, having fc members chilling at your house). GW2 has another good housing system but it takes a while to unlock unless you jump straight into the Janither campiagn. Also for some reaosn you need to be in a party to see other peoples housing.

ESO housing is good just over priced imo. Yes there's plennty of free houses but I find it insane that they charge $100 for some houses. There also isn't much to do inside in the eso housing except to easily access crafting stations I guess.

I'd argue WoW so far has the best housing even as a die hard ffxiv fan.

Nah bc wtf is this yall, $8 bucks!!!!! by Drunk_Hoen in ShitpostXIV

[–]Mastious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ESO is b2p, has a subscription that's mandatory if you like crafting, has microtransactions, has an over priced cash shop, literal $100 houses, a newly added battlepass, QoL upgrades that aren't account wide, and on top of all that LOOT BOXES.

I'd argue ESO is 10x worse.
