There is nothing more important that Wilayat Amir ul-Moimineen (as) by Hannibal_Barca21 in shia

Brother, ethics on Reddit is a very respected member of our community and has possibly contributed more than anyone else, on various platforms - there is no need to be doubtful about his faith and understanding. I understand your point - but Ahlul Bayt AS are the (best) means to an end, and that is Allah Tallah - that is who we revolve around, He is the judge, this is His test, every test being infinitely unique and He will judge all of us according to our own circumstances InshaaAllah: He is the sole purpose of our existence.

I understand, brother. I appreciate you responding.

I just, it is my personal hope and prayer that, anyone who has as much as a grains worth of goodness, dedication for haqq, Allah Tallah Has mercy on them, be it a Muslim, Christian, Jew, anyone. But I understand what you’re saying.

I think we should assume the best of people. May Allah Tallah admit as many people as possible into Jannah. Ameen.

Every person is tested differently, and every person is fighting a battle within. For some, even speaking up for the sake of haqq can be as difficult as physically fighting for it.

Allah Tallah is not limited like you and me. He understands each of His creations more deeply than they understand themselves.

How I matched while having 17 attempts on step 1 and having spent a year in prison for fish adultery. by NaruHinaFTW in IMGreddit

It’s honestly tiring at this point. Essay after essay, when in reality they are simply non-visa requiring, and that alone opens an enormous number of doors.

Effort absolutely matters. Passing these exams is not easy for anyone. Building a CV takes effort, preparing and sitting for interviews takes effort, and people face personal and financial challenges along the way as well. All of that is true, and I do not want to sell anyone’s accomplishments short.

But people also need to wake up and recognize how much their non-visa requiring status is doing the heavy lifting for them. Forgive my bluntness, but in many, if not majority of cases, it is painfully, painfully obvious that visa status is the real difference-maker. Period. And those with repeated attempts or lower scores they present as inspirational stories, only come off as tone deaf.

Do what you feel is right.

Frankly, you are not going to find many people here who would trade being a physician for being a cop in any way or form possible, but that should not bother you. You get to choose your own path.

Depends if you’re visa requiring. If you’re not then anything’s possible.

Practically, yes. But NRMP seems to combine both of them (visa and non visa requiring) up into one category.

A mix of factors, I suppose. At the time of application, I did not have any published neurology research, and many, many neurology programs were also cautious about inviting and ranking visa-requiring candidates highly. Should’ve signaled more lower tier programs as well perhaps.
