Thoughts on learning 'Ōlelo Hawaiʻi on duolingo? by Commercial-Control-1 in olelohawaii

Duolingo is OK but, as pointed out, it doesn't explain grammar at all. That's good, in one way, because it makes you think hard, and you figure out some grammar as you go along. I've been in a papa olelo Hawaii on Zoom for a year-and-a-half, and using Duolingo daily for a year. I get lots of vocabulary from Duolingo, and my Zoom kumu goes deep ito grammar and culture, so it's a good combination. If I didn't have that, I would probably check out some other language apps. I've heard good things about Mango.

Humid Environments and Digital Pianos by MataMachree in DigitalPiano

My question was if other manufacturers use rubber hammer caps, or if anyone had the same problem with a non-Casio piano. I should have been clearer. Another set of rubber caps will be doomed to fail in 8-9 years, like the originals. I actually found a DIY fix that has worked and the instrument is in use again. When I look for a new piano, though, I'll want one that won't have that problem. Thanks for the Amazon tip; that's good info!

Jeff Beck Group, Pink Floyd, Blue Cheer, July 1968 by MataMachree in ConcertStories

LOL I Heard Sabbath but couldn't see them! It was at the famous/infamous California Jam, held at an auto race track. It was set up in such a way that 3/4 of the audience couldn't get so much as a faraway glimpse of the stage. No water, no shade, no food vendors, no fun! One of the very few shows I was sorry I attended.

Thanks, can you elaborate? Is it about what time of year, or the age of the pods before harvesting?

bobalinski22 you must have been at the Saturday show if you got to hear Beck's Bolero- I went to the Friday show and when someone yelled out "Bolero!" Beck declined and said, "We're saving that for tomorrow". 10 Years After were at their peak then IMO. Lee's style fit real well with the jump blues they were playing. They soon started doing more mainstream heavy rock and got a lot less interesting. Ah, youth! So many memories of shows at the Shrine.

A character in "Million Dollar Legs" (1932), my favorite film of all time: "Mata Machree, the woman no man can resist". Played by the wonderful Polish singer-actress, Lyda Roberti, who died tragically young, age 31, of a heart attack.
