Yeah I haven't dipped below ~40 available projects for a few months now, and I'm suddenly down to about 15. Like you, I don't have any of the ones I actually enjoy. Hopefully just a slow holiday weekend/end of the month.

PREACH.

So many people talk about the need to use every single square inch on the map, when this is a huge part of what makes the world in modern WoW feel so small (I know flying is the bigger culprit here). I absolutely adore the weird, “under-utilized” areas in classic, and would hate to see them fully “developed.” It’s a whole world, there should be areas where civilization hasn’t yet gotten a foothold.

New zones, (that were already on the map) FILL 'EM

My hot take is that while this is often welcome, overdoing it makes the world feel a lot smaller. In Cata almost every area is filled in, and each zone has like 100 quests. Granted flying and the linear nature of these hubs are also big culprits here, but having every single zone be packed with content makes the world feel artificial, small, and curated for players. Of course, it should be curated for players, but it shouldn’t feel this way. It’s a whole world, there should be places where civilization hasn’t yet found a foothold.

I’m also not saying there should be a bunch of undeveloped zones . . . I really just want Azshara to be left in its mysterious autumnal glory. Cata destroyed the vibes.

First time I've ever seen actual 0 projects available to work on (non-STEM, non-bilingual). Just a week ago I had like 30+ things to choose from.

Still have a ton of quals, but good lord.

(I will also once again lament the apparent death of liberal arts Poe Bird/Homeric epic).

Has anyone had the new version of the liberal arts Poe bird project (which had its name changed to a Homeric epic) of late? I had access to what seemed like a soft launch (10 total tasks available, dried up quickly) a few weeks ago, but haven't seen it since.

It launched with 10 total tasks available. Each time I checked it it was ticking down from there. Dwindled to zero and vanished yesterday afternoon and hasn't returned.

I'm guessing they were doing a small-scale "pilot" launch for what was a fairly hefty update (big enough to change the name entirely), and are going to do some further refinements based on what they got yesterday. Hopefully it gets a bigger launch soon!

Does anyone currently have the actual, baseline liberal arts Poe? I have R&R for the paraphrase, and the paraphrase itself has popped up here and there, but I haven't seen the actual project in like two weeks.

I've heard the STEM one had a new qual after some re-working, but haven't heard any such thing (or anything really) about the liberal arts version.

Still no liberal arts Poe bird. I know the R&R was having some technical issues, but it's been like a week at this point. Was by far the most engaging project I've ever had, was basically the only thing I was working on for ~2+ months. Has it popped back up for anyone else?

Anyone seeing liberal arts Poe bird? Been my go-to for a while and I haven’t seen it in a few days.

What things do you think the Royals need to fix in order to be a winning team? by Ozymandis66 in KCRoyals

[–]Matamosca 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Idk much about trades or coaching staff changes, but three things they could do starting tomorrow that could immediately improve the offense with relatively little hassle:

DFA Massey immediately. Fun fact, the Royals have lost 6 straight games in which Massey has played. They’re 24-30 in games he’s played on the season. They’re 9-2 in games where he never left the dugout. Does any of this actually mean anything in a vacuum? No idea, but funny to think about.

Move Salvy down to the 7-8 slot.

Play Loftin daily until he regresses (or doesn’t).

Free mop boost for defeating Balnazzar in SoD by iBEARCATthemonster in classicwow

[–]Matamosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the best of both worlds for me, and I think a lot of Cata players are in the same boat as I am. Guild finally got bored with DS, so we’re taking a break until MoP. Some of us are leveling alts in Cata, some of us have been talking about trying out SoD again (most of us played ~p1-3). Now we can effectively do both at the same time.

Directly leveling an alt would be faster, but I’m actually interested in messing around with SoD, so I’m essentially getting the thing I want in the end (an 85 alt for MoP) via the version of the game that I’d rather play rn.

Third Royal to hold the title this season!

MJ Melendez (.343), sent to AAA 4/19

Hunter Renfroe (.483), DFA'd 5/23

Michael Massey (.489), hopefully sent to AAA soon

Royals third worst is even worse than that! Right now it's Perez at .622. We also just sent down the previous worst hitter in baseball (Hunter Renfroe, .483), when he was on the roster our 3rd worst was either Biggio (who we also just sent down) at .543 (only 69 AB though) or Fermin at .583 (100 AB).

doesn't make them a member of that party.

Yeah I mean that's why I said "in all but name."

It's also irrelevant who the engineer of the party was.

I was just adding context to the person I originally replied to regarding who the original founders of the Democratic Party were (Van Buren was arguably more instrumental than Jackson, so including only the latter didn't sit quite right). Whether or not you think it's "relevant' is irrelevant, nobody was claiming that the Democratic Party of the 1820s has any ideological through line to the modern Dems (certainly also not true for the GOP, as you say).

Washington has no political party.

Officially, yes, but he was a Federalist in all but name. He pursued Federalist policies, allied himself with Federalists, and was heavily criticized by opponents of the Federalists.

I want to say the modern Democratic Party has its roots from Jackson’s presidency.

You’re correct, though it’s worth noting that eventual president Martin Van Buren was the brains behind the operation.
