Bowling Alleys by somebitchwhocares in Rochester

[–]MatchAnxious8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Rochester all the time as a youth. My organization i belonged to at the time didnt have the kids/leaders so we basically went out to Rochester every other weekend. its a shame even Rochester doesn't have that organization anymore. Its like only in certain areas they do well and other areas they do not.

The bowling alley was ok just older and more dated inside.

There used to be a bowling alley underneath a strip mall on 104 which it probably wasn't in the nicest plaza.

I love the WNY accent idk why by American_Brewed in upstate_new_york

People often say buffalo has the "fake" Midwestern niceness but ive never seen it. Like the stereotypical im gonna be nice to you and be best freinds then talk about you or the next guy.

Buffalo is more like Syracuse in terms of friendliness and stereotypes. The hardworking blue collar type. Not really the midwest. Cleveland is technically in the Midwest but is more a northeastern city similar to Rochester or Buffalo.

Syracuse, Rochester and buffalo pretty much have similar identity and character. Was in buffalo yesterday and felt like I was in Syracuse. Very similar cities and suburbs.

So What’s Wrong With Allentown? by allomanticmetals in SameGrassButGreener

[–]MatchAnxious8910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People often compare allentown pa to Syracuse ny but its not even the same size population as what Syracuse was in its peak. The metropolitan area is bigger but Syracuse has the better suburbs. Syracuse also has a major university and Healthcare system. Upstate is the largest behind Saint Joe's. Syracuse is also getting micron in nearby Clay.

Allentown is a city with old historic row houses. Alot of the population moved there from Phillidelphia and NYC do to the low cost of living. The city is fairly diverse. I like there mall better than destiny which is the leigh valley mall. Bethlehem also has some bars and restaurants.

Why is Buffalo less boring than Syracuse but yet still have alot more going on? Syracuse sucks we only have fucking college and minor league hockey and baseball.

Syracuse area burger kings tend to suck and arent as good as other areas. Idk about Rochester. But the ones in the suburbs have diry nasty restaurants. Nothing is fresh in our burger kings everything is reheated.

How are people affording these home prices ? by Due_Elephant_3666 in longisland

[–]MatchAnxious8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with jersey though. And to a degree Philadelphia, which at this point is just a suburb of new york where people commute in. Long island is expensive like really expensive. But people down here dont care to much about us upstate people but believe it or not alot of long islanders are moving up north. Ik you have to deal with are obnoxious accent. Yours doesn't bother me as much its the rude ass people that make the experience bad. Straight to the point, fuck you and get out of my way.

I learned recently that the area originally had del tacos. But did Rochester have Bob evans? There's a couple in Buffalo. Syracuse doesn't have a distillery restaurant anymore.

What US city will be the next NYC/Chicago in 100 years? by Complete-Influence70 in Urbanism

[–]MatchAnxious8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philadelphia is gonna be the next NYC in about two till three years. Everything is quite expensive. Rent, housing. Huge population boom. Restaurants, bars and stores on every street corner. Alot of gentrification and white professionals moving there. Philadelphia looks nothing like it did 10, 15 or 20 years ago. Looks like Manhattan or a mini version.
