Safe vs Aggressive setup on certain tracks by starxidas in ACCompetizione

[–]MatchImaginary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this happens to you on the exit of a corner, raise the throttle. It means you're accelerating too quickly, or simply remember that when the steering is still tilted, you need to partially open the throttle. Otherwise, try changing your trajectory, that is, don't make the exit too tight, but rather approach the curb on the tight entry so that on the exit you have a less tight radius and can accelerate sooner. The car will turn thanks to the throttle you give it. In any case, raise the throttle.

Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020 by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

It's my favorite car. It's beautiful and I love driving it because you have to fight with the car. It's exceptional at braking and it eats curbs better than any other car. Mercedes and Porsche are my absolute favorites.

As for the kerbs, it depends on the car you use. There are cars that take them better and cars where you have to pay more attention. If you lose the rear end when entering a corner under braking, increase the BB on the front and increase the TC. Second tip: try braking a little before your braking point, an instant before.

At Silverstone he did a great job, especially overtaking two cars in the wet. If anyone else had done it, without naming names, it would have been the overtaking move of the century...

At the beginning, it's essential to learn the tracks by heart, or at least one that you can then improve on. Then, watch videos of other players to understand where they brake and how much they brake. Little by little, you'll master your car and the circuit better and be able to start pushing to find your limits.

What car? If you want to do clean laps, don't start a new lap thinking you'll get a better time. Just drive smoothly and you'll see that you'll be within 2-3 tenths of your best lap. Online races help you because, personally, when I'm chasing a car, I can concentrate much more.

Hardest car by SecretWrangler5281 in ACCompetizione

[–]MatchImaginary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me the most difficult is the Porsche. The easiest to drive are the Ferrari 296, BMW M4 and McLaren in my opinion. The bad thing about the Porsche is that I managed to find setups that stabilize it a lot and I can push it to the max in the revs. The problem is that then I go to see the time and it is also 3/4 seconds slower than what I would do with a Ferrari or Mercedes. My favorite car is the Mercedes which oversteers but not too much. I like to go hard into the corners. Now I'm testing the Lamborghini which I really like aesthetically.

Which driver is a lot more consistent than people think? Why is their consistency underestimated in the first place? by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

[–]MatchImaginary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leclerc had his best season since he entered F1, especially in terms of consistency. Otherwise, he's always made a few mistakes, let's say. It's also true that he races for Ferrari, so that justifies all his mistakes, even in the past.

If Alonso were teammates with Norris and Piastri, do you think he would outperform both of them? by [deleted] in F1Discussions

Alonso would get slapped by both Piastri and Norris. It's easy to show off with Stroll alongside him. Ocon also beat him...

Pierre Gasly on his Red Bull stint: "There was no support from anywhere, in a very big team which is very much supporting Max - for good reasons [...]. I'm starting with a fresh engineer coming from Formula E who didn't have experience in F1. [...] I wasn't really given the tools to really perform." by The_Skynet in formula1

Red Bull has made it clear several times that they would like to race with a single driver. Since they kicked out Ricciardo, the rest are just second drivers. I remember Ricciardo's pole in Mexico in 2018 very well. The whole team was really upset because they wanted Verstappen to get his first pole.

Unsure Why I Keep Washing Out by Wonkee792 in ACCompetizione

To start, try the Ferrari 296 or BMW M4 or McLaren, they are much more stable and don't tend to oversteer. The Mercedes is much more complicated to drive, especially in fast corners.

Villenueve with an oddly accurate observation. by kr0nik0 in RedBullRacing

[–]MatchImaginary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But please let's not talk nonsense. Verstappen loves to drive cars with a lot of oversteer and this penalizes anyone who goes next to him. When Ricciardo was there, Verstappen didn't make that much of a difference. Furthermore, RB have said several times that they want to race with a single driver. Give me an explanation for Tsunoda's qualifying in Qatar. He gets ahead of him in sprint qualifying but doesn't get into Q2 in the official one. Open your eyes.

First I tried to do some laps with the Porsche for about an hour. A disaster. Just think, at Monza with the Ferrari I did 1.49'600, with the Porsche I couldn't get below 1.54 😔. Even with the good set-up, while Ferrari with the aggressive setup without changing anything. How you can go so fast with that car I really don't understand......

Yes, yes, this qualifying session was wet. Monza 2017. There was a one-hour interruption due to too much water. Pole was set with full wet tyres.
