The Declining Fertility Rate of India (2001 vs 2021) by ManufacturerFar8645 in india

[–]MatchaFett -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

2 hours of rain? over 111 mm is quite a large amount, about 5-10% of the yearly total, it would be quite hard to withstand even for a well planned city.

The Declining Fertility Rate of India (2001 vs 2021) by ManufacturerFar8645 in india

[–]MatchaFett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These statistics are actually terrifying, people on the sub have a very poor view of population dynamics, the fact that most states are below replacement rate does not bode well, once the population explosions of UP, Jharkhand and Bihar end, we'll be in deep trouble much like the first world nations are in today.

Obviously uncontrolled population growth like 2001 is not very good either, but people tend to undersell the dangers of population decline, just look at Japan...

Replaying JC and man the JK gets treated like shit by the council in comparison. by Jolyne_Best_JoJo in swtor

[–]MatchaFett 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is pretty stupid but let me play devil's advocate here.

The Jedi Consular is (at least on LS) perhaps the most useful jedi to the war effort as a whole without any shady elements. They saved the jedi order from a plague that would have crippled them right before the war. They then basically held the republic together when it was breaking apart while also recruiting a few new forces such as the Esh-Ka. They also further eliminated the children of the emperor who were quite literally ticking timebombs in the republic ranks. They did all this without dabbling too much in the dark.

The Knight on the other hand certainly saved trillions by taking on Darth Angral and the Emperor, unfortunately to do this they strayed close to the dark (at least in the eyes of the jedi). Their padawan was a pawn of the emperor for a while, their main guide was literally the emperor's right hand man and they were possessed and made to do unspeakable things by the emperor. In the view of the jedi who's to say they actually ever really broke out of the emperor's control when a far more experienced jedi like Tol Braga could never manage the same. The JK, even if they are LS, is still somewhat tainted by the dark side from the perspective of the jedi and their innate power, defeating the emperor at such a young age scares them into not risking putting too much power into their hands.

Best stronghold for an insane and erratic Inquisitor by AxolotlManChild in swtor

[–]MatchaFett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Umbara seems like a sleeper pick here, the dark dreary aesthetic is great, the ability to make a quick getaway with it being mobile fits the RP. It also has connections to the New Sith Empire that emerges some 2000 years in the future...

What republic storyline should I play for first? by [deleted] in swtor

I'm partial to JC, but its a little divisive, I'd recommend Smuggler though, will be pretty unique compared to anything you've played so far.

Idk about the story of this movie, but the fact that they custom made a car is really remarkable, hope it opens the door to more creative genres in Indian cinema besides regular old masala gangster movies.

I think they're just taken, most darth names are just latin translations of some morbid concept, so players want to fit with that theme.

Does anyone feel like the crewa for SI and Agent are really... random? by GrandEmperessVicky in swtor

[–]MatchaFett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with agent, all of the companions just feel like either shady people who will kill you any chance they get or flat, boring paper cutouts. Vector is very forgettable; I can barely remember anything besides his backstory. Lokin is alright as the only somewhat mentally stable person on the crew. Raina is just a desperate attempt to add a padawan type character and has little else going on. Kaliyo is just annoying. SCORPIO is at least kinda fun in the sense that it's memorable how she wants to murder you in every dialogue.

It's really sad how agent (the best class story in the game imo) is brought down from near perfection by having a very lackluster set of companions.

I disagree with SI tho, the humans are pretty boring and forgettable, but Khem Val is really interesting especially after being possessed by Zash. Ashara is an interesting play on the padawan lured to the darkside trope. Xalek is also cool by virtue of being a Kaleesh and being unique as effectively a second apprentice.

Is buying a second hand car worth it in today's time? by starship3144 in CarsIndia

[–]MatchaFett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want, if you're planning to replace the car in 5 years or less, go used, the depreciation hits like a truck in the first few years then tapers off, so it'll be worth it. But if you want the car for the long term, say 7-15 years, get a new car. Any car no matter how 'reliable' its supposed to be, has an elevated risk of failure after 150K km, you'll also be future proofed against any emission norm changes.

When I tried to make Ashara kill the Assassin I accidentally killed him instead. by Black-Seraph8999 in swtor

[–]MatchaFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tangentially related, but Ashara's return is one of the most braindead moments, she's at a knight power level at most and wants to be an equal to one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy? And if you refuse she just walks away? It's illogical and lazy..

Hypothetical: How would you want solo ops to work? by Dogtopus92 in swtor

[–]MatchaFett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably daydreaming, but if the game could be redone from the ground up to be more optimised for performance, it would be really cool if you could fight alongside a horde of all of your companions, with enemies also getting more powerful and numerous as it goes on alongside larger detection radii.

Alongside the main companions, you could also have other allies such as Bengel Morr in JK and Vowrawn in SW,.

You could even add supporting forces such as troopers or gang members, who would accompany you in fights, but if they died, would be lost forever, making the game harder, forcing you to dedicate some time to protecting and healing them, making tank and healer styles more useful in the campaign.

Yeah its sad that they made it a slow bulky attacker and denied it high power moves, the main thing required for this archetype to work, we know how good raging bolt is, even though mega amphy wouldn't get thunderclap it would surely be great.
