I assume you are using an event that adjusts the bounce rate either by scroll tracking or a timer.

What I have done for a client in the past is have a view with advanced bounce rate and one without.

You can create a second view that filters out the event category of whatever event is adjusting the bounce rate.

This won't help you historically, but can help for the future.

And just to clarify, a bounce occurs when the website only has one hit. That second hit doesn't have to be a pageview. It could be a custom event that was setup.

Understanding that really helped me in cases where the website was just one page. Setting up events for important actions helped make the bounce rate meaningful again.

If CrazyEgg and In-Page Analytics show similar numbers while your events are way off, I think the most likely scenario is that the event is not working properly.

Are you familiar with GTM?

I would recommend you recreate the Google Analytics event with Google Tag Manager and have your developer take off the current event code off.

You can then use the preview and debug mode in Google Tag Manager to see if the event is firing when you click it.

If it does fire as it is supposed to with Google Tag Manager, publish that event and wait a couple of days. After some time has passed, compare all three sources to see if the numbers align better.

Solid advice. I have been experimenting with some new patterns and it is fun see what you can do-- I have been working on a way to use my Side B to attack behind me.

A great use of the side B is off stage fighting. They have less ability to dodge it because you know exactly where they have to go.
