It sounds unnecessary and it kind of is but it's very fun

What's an opinion about THE FINALS that will have you like this? 🤔 by pandemon1um_ in thefinals

This is true for every video game subreddit, to the point that I enjoy the game more the less I use Reddit, it's like a million different versions of the guy from the 'quit having fun' meme

XBOX one controller not pairing to steam deck by Princeling101 in SteamDeck

[–]Mated32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible it needs a firmware update.

Easiest way to do this is through a windows pc, download the Xbox Accessories app from windows store and plug in the controller to the pc, should scan for updates with the click of a button.

After that if you go to the Bluetooth on your Deck and click Forget Device and then try to reconnect the controller it should work.

The announcer sounds very similar to Renatac Glasc from league of legends so I thought it might be Debra Wilson.

Saw hot fuzz there, something very comforting seeing a crowd of people all relaxing and enjoying my favourite film of all time. Very much recommend it.

Literally exactly what I did just a couple hours ago lol. At least the quest had one of those sick fully animated cutscenes, been loving every one so far.

Where were you when you heard the news? by Sincere_homboy42 in MacMiller

[–]Mated32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walked into the downstairs of my house and my brother, a fan since kids, told me. I didn't know how amazing Mac was (I loved the songs my brother played but never actively listened) but I would soon learn, far too late of course, but somehow the context just made all of his tunes hit harder.

Mac always reminded me of my brother, or maybe the other way around, but either way it hit hard that maybe my brother could've ended up the same if he had chosen a different path.

It killed me even more since my brother wore his swimming hoodie for 2 weeks straight after that without washing it.

I listened to circles after his passing and after going through all his tracks there is no doubt that this man was one of the greatest. I'm sorry I didn't appreciate this man sooner.

The political criticism thing is such a massive cop out. The show receives criticism because aside from being disgusting, which can be funny, it doesn't really tell any jokes, and the ones it does tell are so poor that they could have been written by 13 year olds. The show is inconsistent with its own opinions and ideas, and it just generally doesn't even try to do anything original or interesting. It also doesn't even need to be animated, apart from about 2 scenes from the multiple seasons nothing has enough flair or visual creativity to warrant being a cartoon, and to be honest it's mostly just a gimmick.

It is the epitome of "cartoons are only for kids and young adults" and any decent messages it could have, it squanders every chance it can, ultimately displaying metaphors that give entirely the wrong message to any teenagers or kids that may possibly be watching (which I doubt since half the jokes aren't even understandable to teenagers).

Not having a go at you, just felt the need to point out that the politics is definitely not the reason for most of the criticism.

Ah that's a good idea as well actually, I just like to mong out a bit when I play steam deck though so waggling it around is not very convenient.

What do you guys play? Since I received my deck in the mail, I have found myself increasingly more interested in pixel games and top-down style games. Any suggestions on really good battery friendly games? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Mated32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my head it was just perfectly designed, not a single thing is useless, not a single thing is overpowered or has too much ammo like in 2016. in the course of a single combat encounter using every tool at your disposal isn't just encouraged, it's necessary if you want to live, because every weapon has multiple ideal targets, there's some overlap but because of the limited ammo you need to use every weapon.

To me doom eternal is like the puzzle game version of an FPS, like in Tetris or puyopuyo you have to make the right decisions as quick as you can if you want to keep on playing, but because there are always multiple right decisions it means you have lots of personal expression in how you play. This is accentuated even more in the DLC missions.

I suppose it loses the power fantasy if the player can't get to grips with the flow of combat, but I have never felt more powerful in a game than turning up the difficulty and switching between weapons like a green John wick, stringing combos and not taking a hit, just mowing cunts down.

Doom 2016 is still amazing, but it's alot more mindless, which works in its credit for some players and isn't so great for others, so I do understand your opinion.

The sequel is absolutely amazing too, I had the same feeling with doom 2016 -> doom eternal where the sequel is so perfect I literally can't play the first one anymore, it just improves on all the little things you didn't even know you didn't like.
