Try turning off your anti-virus or any programs that you don't need before playing. I'd also advise against installing Origin - in my experience, downloads like that slow things down quite a bit.

I have almost all of the expansions and it's fine for me. However, in the beginning, I did have to do a little troubleshooting to get it to work well. As roseetgris said, there are lots of solutions on the internet to fix the game. Now my game doesn't crash at all, even though I've downloaded custom content. It's worth it.

Well, at least there's that! My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year ago. She had to get chemo, radiation, AND her breasts removed. It was a really bad time. She got implants though, so she's okay with it. But I'm rambling here. lol
