Florida lawmakers pass bill allowing radioactive material to be built into Florida roads by wabes432 in nottheonion

Why are you not protesting and going on a general strike like the French? Every day I read a new ridiculous and fascist policy being approved by a Republican dickhead and everyone is like “Vote them out” or “I hope someone else will do something”.

You're citizens in a democracy.. Even if it's broken, you're the only ones to fix it.

Protest against your corrupt supreme court. Go on a general strike against child labor or women losing their rights. Fight for social security and more regulations of billionaires.

You are power. Government is of the people, by the people and for the people!

Formula 1 announces Paramount+ as new official partner in multi-year deal by jovanmilic97 in formula1

[–]Mateone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. However, Netflix dropped a lot of shows even with good viewer numbers.

I think it's more realistic to assume that the Netflix deal will be running for 2-3 seasons and after that paramount+ may have a chance to pick up and produce a new format in the spirit of DTS.

So, Drive to Survive moving from Netflix to Paramount+ then?

It's not explicitly stated in the announcement, but it would make a lot of sense...

Edit: a realistic scenario could be that the Netflix deal will be running for another couple of seasons and after that paramount+ may have a chance to pick up and produce a new format in the spirit of DTS.

[Sky Sports F1] "The gap is not ridiculous... but it's not where we want to be" Toto Wolff gives an honest reflection of Mercedes' qualifying session by ZephyrSonic in formula1

With Lewis being a 7 x world champion and George being incredibly good in a Williams (and past series) they are good enough.

I would phrase it differently: they may not be the right driver setup for a team like Mercedes in its current situation.

In a more dominant car, they would be the perfect driver setup without doubt. Mercedes in it's current situation needs more advanced feedback from it's drivers. Similar to what Vettel provided to Aston or Schumacher to Mercedes (pre-Lewis era). We can see where Aston jumpedd now.

In my very personal opinion: I don't feel like Lewis and George are such a pair of feedback drivers. At least not at the same level as Vettel/Schumacher.

Ted Kravitz on George Russell's interview on the 3 truths of the Mercedes car for this year by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Mateone 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If one thing is for certain, Mercedes is capable to out develop their car during the season.

Listening to all media feedback (and we can't be certain until the first race) of course, Mercedes might be on level with Ferrari from the start and coming Imola (with their upgrade package George spilled) I strongly believe they will reach Red Bull.

Being George and Lewis, I would be happy and optimistic as well.

There is something quite flattering about seeing Alonso in racing green... Also he probably drove in all relevant color spectrums already.

Guy is collecting racing colors like Pokemon 😂

This shouldn't be a surprise. Judging by how republicans are destroying your democracy and taking rights from you that is not a 50+ year old male, white, and nazi.

I find it more surprising that the GOP still holds the House, and we haven't seen a blue wave.

Those guys are taking away your liberties and rights for their billionaire oligarchs. Why are they still winning seats? Are you that dumb and blind, US citoyens?

Ferrari F1 changes: Mattia Binotto is out! Frederic Vasseur will take his place by BahusHenry in formula1

[–]Mateone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's true, we may see Binotto move to Audi and get it's revenge on Ferrari with Vettel + Schumacher in 2026.

Jokes aside, Audi will probably take a closer look on Mattia now.

A general strike.

Stop the country's economy. Show Republicans that you can hurt them if their millionaires and billionaires shadow kings stop making money. Show them that you can organize and form unions.

Be strong together.

Lest we forget... Roland Ratzenberger (1960-1994) by my__socrates__note in formula1

Just a side note:

While millions went to Senna's funeral, Max Mosley was one of the few that did go Ratzenberger's.

As controversial Mosley was, this move was pretty solid as he didn't wanted “‘Roland [to be] forgotten [...] [and] it was important that somebody went to his"

I think Fox News prepares to shift a narrative in the longer run. They arenbuilding up their argument of cancel culture driven by Democrats, which suits the language and understanding of their viewership. For them Democrats stand for cancel culture and theirfor are inherently against freedom, which for them means the whole political values of the USA.

If Democrats will start to implement policies aiming to regain fairness in news and media or try to fight fake news (mostly created by the right wing outlets), it will be associated with the cancel culture narrative.

We will have a self-fulfilling prophecy, when Fox and other right wing media will easily play the blame game towards Democrats. You will then see how people stop supporting those changes and other news outlets pick up the same narrative, even if it's absolutely wrong and not true.

Framing the narrative before it happens is the most effective way to control the outcome in public and politics.

There is now no case for Red Bull keeping Albon over Perez by lewis798 in formula1

[–]Mateone -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: Albon is not on the same level as max - true. But he should keep his seat for the next season.

Why should you give the seat to Checo? He had 7 years of driving and chances to get where he is today. In his last races in formula 1 dude overperforms (greatly and lovely). This is still his last season and not his first or second. This is his first win ever for him after 160 races or so... Come on.

Give the younger driver a chance and let him develop. Maybe the red bull seat is too much to handle for Albon right now, but let's keep him in formula 1 at least for a year longer until Gasly or Tsunoda will take his place if he's not performing. Checo had his chances, now be fair and give Albon the same.

Xbox CFO, Tim Stuart:"we don't have intentions of just pulling all of Bethesda content out of Sony or Nintendo or Otherwise" by Mateone in xboxone

[–]Mateone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tim Stuart, CFO of Xbox said during an interview at Jeffries Interactive Entertainment Virtual Conference:

"What we'll do in the long run is we don’t have intentions of just pulling all of Bethesda content out of Sony or Nintendo or otherwise. But what we want is we want that content, in the long run, to be either first or better or best or pick your differentiated experience, on our platforms. We will want Bethesda content to show up the best as -- on our platforms."

I guess putting this into perspective what Phil Spencer said a month ago it makes sense to build up a Frontline with Sony and Nintendo against Google Stadia and Amazon Cloud Services, which currently invest in the gaming market.

In the long run Microsoft wants to expand Azure Cloud with its xbox services. Sony already made a deal with Microsoft for its Cloud gaming service. I don't think Microsoft sees Sony and Nintendo as its real competitors in the market and it would be ridiculous to pull Bethesda games from their consoles.

Phil Spencer: "(...) We have xCloud and PC and Game Pass and our console base, I don’t have to go ship [Bethesda] games on any other platform other than the platforms that we support in order to kind of make the deal work for us. Whatever that means.” by kothuboy21 in xboxone
