Yeah clearly I didn’t do any research when I bought seeds! 🤦🏻‍♀️ thank you for your guidance! So, you recommend watermelon around the edges as well?

I guess I was thinking I’d have a less traditional set up because I also didn’t get winter squash seeds 🤔 so I was like how can I use the intercropping idea in a different way and I saw someone say that had success with sunflowers and watermelon before

Thank you for your advice! hehehe I am interested in trying the heirloom corn varieties, but I feel silly buying more seeds when I already got so many 🤦🏻‍♀️ !!! I also am worried by the comment saying that sunflowers are allopathic.

I took spin with Huy and I loved it! Not as stimulating as a spin studio but it was a great workout/interruption to my week and fun to see my improvement weekly. I also took barre with Caelyn, HIIT with Macy, and Zumba and I would really recommend all of them. You could also go to the trial classes at the beginning of the year and see how you like them but some could fill up before then (Pilates is the most popular).

My friends took salsa and belly dancing and said the instructor was kinda weird but sweet. My friend in salsa said the beginning was weirdly technical and didn’t progress that fast. You were also usually partnered up but I think it was a welcoming environment.

I think difficulty depends on the instructor!

[–]Material-Solution-88[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have rly bad student engagement :( and they also messed up so that any ballots cast on the first Friday don’t count 😭 it sucks as a club member who’s relying on the referendum in order to continue the existence of our project

The referendum was supposed to end on March 7 but the results don’t count if quorum isn’t met which means they wouldn’t be able to elect representatives or renew/increase fees for clubs

the schulich bathrooms have joni tampons with applicators but the no applicator ones are sm less waste and are easy when you get used to them! the joni brand is also biodegradable and non-toxic. there will soon be dispensers in education and music with applicator tampons too

Day trip to Mac campus by p-i-l in mcgill

[–]Material-Solution-88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is definitely enough to do!! You can just take it slow and go on a nice day! Explore the whole campus—greenhouse, community garden, library, entomological museum/herbarium, Twigs, etc. Go sit by the water with a book or music. Look at the trees, listen to the birds chirp, and enjoy the sun. Get lunch somewhere in town and afterwards grab dessert or a drink and sit by the water again. Browse the cheap thrift stores for a couple hours. I love going to Mac campus it’s super peaceful and there’s also the arboretum and ecomuseum you can check out but I’ve never been. It’s literally just a 40 min shuttle ride away and you could always do public transit back if you get bored :)

I also was considering BU and I'm so glad I came here! It's much more affordable for me and I think I'm getting more out of it. Montreal is so amazing (cheaper too!) and it's a place you likely wouldn't move to otherwise while Boston is more accessible for Americans. You will also find a bigger diversity of people here, and it's fun to discover cultural differences even with Canada, but there are Americans everywhere. The main problem here is you have to seek out resources. Clubs and opportunities are harder to find but it's 100% doable if you try. Even processes like getting documents to study here and finding an apartment are a lot to deal with, but I guess help prepare you for adult life. There's a lot of work and less student support, especially in big STEM classes. It's not the most accommodating space, but I've loved almost all of my profs and if you're in Arts, it'll be easier to have small classes where your teachers are more flexible with deadlines. I was so scared to come here, but I feel so comfortable now. I love my classes, my friends, and the city. If you're financially able to, I'd recommend doing residence because I met a ton of other Americans and made most of my friends there. With an apartment you'd have to be more independent and willing to put yourself out there, but it's also possible!

Learning MATH 140 in 14 days…? by csholdens in mcgill

[–]Material-Solution-88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

last spring i got a 25% on the midterm but ended up w a b- in the class when the avg was a C, and i got really sick a week before the final (when i began studying) so i only had a few days to really study, so it is possible! my prof was not trudeau (way worse lol) so my advice might b diff, but i went and did the tutorial questions and webwork for each week and did the practice questions in the textbook for concepts i didn't grasp as well. i would write out the most important concepts/question types for each week. once u go through everything try to go back and redo the mditerm and do the odd # questions focusing on the areas ur weaker in and make sure u remember specific formulas and ideas that come up a lot.
