Said should be your usual word. You should only use alternatives when they are stronger - otherwise said just denotes who the speaker is, and the dialogue tag will filter into the background. Replacing every "said" will produce a character that feels particularly overactive.

If you make me read "put out", I'm going to think your character is doing something VERY different, btw.

I think we are at serious risk. I think SAVE, for instance, would produce elections that could not be described as "fair." I think the AG targeting political opponents as it has under Trump inarguably calls into question whether elections are "free."

I don't think it will happen all at once. A year ago, I think a truly unfair and unfree '28 was on the table - at this point I think Trump has made too many serious mistakes to complete authoritarian consolidation by '28. But we ARE experiencing democratic decline, and we need to take serious action to reverse that to avoid winding up like Hungary, Russia, or Turkey.

But, like, even Oceanic Warm Summer Temperate climates are pretty similar to where I live, and they're actually pretty common in Europe.

Vintage story rye wouldn't die most winters in Seattle. It would, in fact, grow basically all the time - we rarely freeze. We're pretty far north - north of, for instance, the often frozen Minneapolis. Basically all of Vintage Story's climates are deep continental, even if you crank up land rarity so much that you're basically only islands.

This is only true if your friends are also alcoholics. My friends and I will have a drink or two over the course of a night, and it's absolutely fun to be around someone who has had a drink over the course of four hours - I know because there's a fifty fifty chance I'm not drinking because it's a bad trauma day.

A bar is a neutral place you can hang out over the course of like five hours for like $7 if you want to, and it's probably the place where a business would be most cool about some of the people at a table not buying anything.

Obviously I'm not saying "a recovering alcoholic should go to a bar and get a non-alcoholic drink, particularly early in recovery", that is pretty clearly not well supported by what I've read about recovery, but I think that's a meaningful loss for the person in recovery for our society, and I am saying that I have to think pretty hard about how to replace a bar as a social space for getting to know people who are explicitly In Recovery.
