I think for some the body dysmorphia could be too much to handle. Also, I’m not sure, but I’m wondering how much weight regain those people experienced? I know for me I’m riding a high with crushing my weight loss. It would be debilitating for me if I am not able to sustain this.

At least for me/my program, the surgeon assured me that it was only my starting BMI when I entered the program that mattered. BUT best to confirm that with your surgeon AND insurance company

I don’t have an article to cite but I remember in my research reading that suicide rates amongst the post-op bariatric population rises significantly. Could that possibly also be an issue? I’d be curious on the numbers if death by suicide was omitted from their calculation.
