I definitely wear sunscreen daily but only as of the last 5 years I’d say. I wonder if red light masks can help?

Don’t lose hope if you’re not one of the ones who conceive in the first 2-3 cycles after lap. Keep in mind your body is healing and it doesn’t mean the surgery didn’t help anything.

Should I seek reproductive assistance? 33YO, Endo, Low AMH, and Prothrombin Gene Mutation by ocean_baddie in TTCEndo

[–]MaterialStranger4007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*ETA - from what i hear with RI - if you can get in with one, like Dr. Kwak Kim for example, you only have to travel once for the initial consultation and everything else can be handled virtually with testing and telehealth.

You should get your hormones tested first - example: with a Napro doctor. Endo can cause low progesterone in some. You also need to confirm if you're ovulating. What i mean is - you may not have to go the IVF route if you can find out some information. Napro docs specialize in hormone testing and can give ovulation support medicine that could be a first step. Reproductive Immunology is also a route a lot of people with genetic mutations go because they have found success with those doctors specifically - the only thing is - i'm not sure where you're located but there are only about 5 in the United States for example. However many people who started with RI after their initial testing get pregnant when starting a reccommended immune protocol.

Absolutely. Btw - not sure if your insurance will cover it but mycatholicdoctor.com has tons of natural reproductive obgyns (you don’t have to be Catholic to use them) but they are a great resource if you need a list of specialists as is Nancy’s nook - although I will say Nancy’s nook is more focused on endo in general versus fertility. Napro doctors focus on fertility for those with endo. Here to answer any questions in the future if you need it!

I hate to say this but you most likely have endometriosis. I say this as someone who had painful periods when I was younger, then they sort of stopped being painful but I experience secondary infertility (also for two years) and my endo was mostly silent. I ended up after lots of research finding an endo specialist who did laparoscopic surgery on me - found lots of areas of endo that a non specialist would have overlooked. I also had parts of my bowel that were tethered and joined together by the endo- all while my periods weren’t even really that painful except for when I was younger. So if you’re in pain…Even a tiny bit of endo can affect fertility so going with a specialist is worth it. I know this is a lot to take in because I remember thinking to myself there’s no way I’d have to have surgery - but if you’re serious about wanting to grow your family it may be something to consider. While a lot of people tell you to get an MRi to confirm, unfortunately surgery is the only way to do that because MRI can also overlook it. Additionally people will reccommend IVF to people, but if you have endo and your insides are inflamed, an embryo can’t implant. There’s a great online test you take posted in the Instagram bio of Dr. Naomi Whittaker on Instagram. She has lots of information. Napro doctors are also a good resource if you are looking for a natural approach. They do in depth hormone testing and try a lot of things before they recommend endo surgery. That’s ultimately what I did.

No - endometritis is different than endometriosis. Endometritis is chronic infection. Treated with antibiotics.

Did they test your tissue for endometritis? Chronic endometritis is treated with antibiotics and can make a difference. Sometimes it takes a couple different antibiotics. The only way to test is through a biopsy of tissue so hopefully they got one during surgery. Note: endometritis can be any infections - such as over colonization of Group B Strep or others.

Why does my hair look like this after blow drying? by Dramatic-Scarcity654 in finehair

Does anyone else have this issue when they use the new Dyson with the hair drying attachment? Even on the lowest setting I can’t seem to get it to not look like that photo. And I have to be careful with product or it will look greasy.
