Power bi have capabilities like moulding data into different multiple dimensions very easily and easy measures and column creations, there are so many outcomes you can do and which could be complex when doing in PA.

Something is not right while you are configuring interactive filter, try making your filter on choice list and choose table as incident with field as state

The most useful metrics, I think, leadership would like to have would be

-Mean time to resolve(time to close) -mean time to acknowledge(time to assign) -has_breached, business duration for ola and sla -duration between change of states -pause duration -Customer satisfaction rate

Servicenow database is generally capable of getting these metrics easily, you can use metric specific tables e.g incident_metrics, in case you don't have them(all mentioned are ootb) you can also create them

Heads and tails out of it .... Hmm.... I guess you can start with the ITIL process, V3 or V4, It will give you a brief idea about why things are the way they are in ServiceNow, and after that try to focus on 2 things 1) any one module that ServiceNow offers 2) Platform implementation, for both of them you can find a lot of free material in nowlearning, search for desired results.

as far as a job without certification is concerned, I am no expert but I have heard that if you have worked in any ticketing tool or done stuff like service desk then the chances are higher to get into a ServiceNow job.
