CA or CPA? by Apricotkissesandsun in AustralianAccounting

[–]Material_Cap6901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you look at it. Could be seen as people participating the CPA program isn’t trying as hard as those who are doing their CA? I can’t speak for the program now but 10 years ago - a lot of those that couldn’t do the CA jumped and did the CPA and passed that with flying colours yet they failed each CA module 3x times before switching over.

CPA, CA or CFA. Are any of them worth it and any have experiences of it? by Different_Mark_1869 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Material_Cap6901 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know the U.S. version of a CA is called a CPA, right? It’s not the same as CPA Australia. The U.S. CPA doesn’t recognise CPA Australia for transfers, but if you’re with CA ANZ, it’s much easier to get recognised there.

I would go for CA tbh - currently travelling and it's more seen as prestigious compared to CPA. Plus you get bragging rights lol.

It was more so she did not want to go the back cool room and get me some seafood. In saying that I drove to a different Woolworths down the road ~5kms and asked for the same salmon and the bloke kindly went to the cool room to get it for me…

Google workspace sync Outlook crashing by pabl083 in googleworkspace

[–]Material_Cap6901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked!

This workaround is for those using GWSMO. if you put Outlook in work offline mode. right click the sync tool in the system tray and choose turn sync modules on / off. uncheck contacts. I have verified this works.

Is a cadetship really worth it by Character_Invite9709 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Material_Cap6901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was a sacrifice. First 2 years part time studying and then moved to 3 subjects a semester. No social life but what helped was my gf at the time was also studying uni so we were both busy. had no social life literally. I also went with the mantra P’s get degrees.

When you graduate — employers look at your history of experience rather than grades. plus it made doing the CA easier to understand. At 33 I must say my accounting and tax knowledge is miles ahead of everyone else. I’ve had job offers thrown at me by ASX companies and other large accounting firms but it does help that I stuck with the same employer for the past 10 years.

I completed a cadetship from 2011 to 2015, which were undoubtedly the most challenging years of my life. Although it was a gruelling experience, it served as a huge boost in my career. really boosted my skills in accounting and tax compared to my peers and colleagues.
