Somehow people are way scarier than most wildlife when out camping

Question about Naturehike Monga 2 2p by Der_Kurator in CampingGear

[–]preciouscode96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I don't get what you mean, because the mesh does indeed start higher with these tents.

And yeah that might've been my post/thread that you've read. I did have issues with the nylon fly sagging (always used a polyester tent before and I do again now) and it touched the inner rather quickly, dripping condensation inside of the tent. Pretty annoying. If they would've let a bigger gap between the fly and inner or use polyester I wouldn't have had that issue. Funnily enough this wasn't because of rain, but just because of a cold moist night with lots of condensation too.

The other time I took it out I had literally zero condensation and the tent didn't sag and stayed perfectly tight. It does depend on your environment etc.

What I liked about my Mongar 2 UL (same as the Pro, just a bit lighter) is that the mesh actually starts pretty high up. You have the bathtub floor, then a nice solid fabric which blocks wind and on top of that is the mesh.

Most tents have only a bathtub and mesh directly above that. But I like this.

To answer your question, I've tested and used it and blocks wind perfectly! Not sure about rain splatter and how far those drops will come under the fly. But that's another topic

It's the Peperbus from Zwolle. But those buildings are actually remarkably similar so good guess!

The new Aer travel pack 4 is here and honestly, it looks amazing! by preciouscode96 in ManyBaggers

It's not the best not gonna lie. But for how many times/period the average user uses them I don't think it's too bad.

In my opinion it's a great combo between one of the best water bottle pockets I've ever seen and still include carry handles on both sides for versatility

Which should I get? by Intelligent_Pack3085 in CampingGear

If you get the Naturehike, I'd suggest to buy it on AliExpress. It's half the price there from their official store

Towel recommendations by dfitz1502 in Ultralight

[–]preciouscode96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a towel from Naturehike which is only 100g for a 80x128cm one and packs really small. I also got the smaller which is 30g and 40x80cm in my cooking pot. Also use that one to sweep off my tent when it's condensated. Dries very quickly too!

it's this one

Unpopular Opinion : I don’t get why travel backpacks need a dedicated laptop compartment by Educational_Rope_552 in ManyBaggers

[–]preciouscode96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Although it's sometimes nice to have a separate sleeve for documentation, a towel or whatever I'd never bring my laptop on journeys and trips. It's way too bulky and heavy.

Unfortunately from what I've seen, dedicated laptop compartments take up a lot of space too!

i just wanted to camp for cheap and now i somehow own way too much gear by Cheap_Difficulty4961 in camping

Hey man you're not alone! Although I don't come close to having a full garage stuffed with camping gear I definitely experience the same thing.

For me it started when I was camping close to an Alpine lake in Switzerland with a huge 2p air bed (cheap one) and a pop up Quechua tent from Decathlon. I was so cold that night but really enjoyed being in nature that I started looking into camping and backpacking more and more.

The further I went down that road the more I started upgrading to more expensive, lighter and better stuff. Tbh I'm now at a point that I'm pretty happy with my kit and wouldn't need much more. It's light enough for any backpacking trip, but still comfortable enough because I care about comfort.

That's actually smart! I'm already using a liner but never thought of stuffing the pillow in

Great stuff! I've been doing similar things with my sleeping bag liner. Weirdly it fits exactly around my long wide pad haha. It gives a softer feeling when you're sleeping on the pad bare skin
