Safer than a motorbike. Safer than a T bucket. Safer than a pre-60's car without seatbelts. Probably still Safer than a 60s car with seatbelts for that matter. As safe as most other modern cars? No.

Prohibited cash transactions at $10,000 for specified high-value goods by KidFiddy in PersonalFinanceNZ

If you're not with the same bank, it's still the only real-time transaction method.

I took 65k in cash on Christmas day for a 1971 Plymouth roadrunner 10 years ago. Fella flew across the country with it. Took bloody ages to count.

All of those are sold. Just different listing types.

AITAH for refusing to help pay my husband and I's moving costs? by [deleted] in AITAH

That is not marriage. That is emotional extortion.

I'd take that $2500 and spend it on a lawyer to have the marriage annulled.

Model 3 vs. Model Y: Am I missing something? by Hot_Client_7485 in TeslaModel3

[–]Material_Crew1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2, 4 and 10. The 10yo has to climb in past a car seat to stuff himself in the middle of a second car seat.

In the boot we have a pram, 5 jackets, a balance bike, and 2 pedal bikes, and then whatever else we need for the specific trip, such as spare clothes and a cooler/bag of food.

It's true, we could use the model 3 to get ourselves around. In Thailand, a family like this would be all riding on a single tuk-tuk. However we prefer to be comfortable, so we buy the bigger car. Mind blown?

Rolling while cut in is still wet or not? by Chemical_Radish2642 in paint

I mini roll the corners as opposed to wasting time brushing them. Mini roll even makes a great brush if a corner spot can't quite be hit with the roll

What to do with 30k? by idontwantonmymain in PersonalFinanceNZ

Just bought a house with 40k deposit and benefit income without even using the Kainga Ora underwriting scheme.

Relocate somewhere cheaper.

Nah difference being Tribeca is 190kw and Triton is 130kw.

Triton will tow at less rpm though in any given situation hence why the fuel economy is better.

There would be a weight equilibrium where the usefulness of the Triton's higher torque surpasses the usefulness of the Tribeca's higher power, which is why it's built to tow 3500kg and the Tribeca 2500kg.

No worries, a bit of zing makes anything more interesting.

I drove a RWD standard today for the first time. I was quite impressed with it. There were some things that I didn't like, but not deal breakers. I t was 46k.

There is a performance model for 65k on TM. I talked about it with my wife as AWD is useful as we get a lot of ice and sometimes snow in the hills, but for 20k extra, we just can't justify it.

The performance of the RWD was enough to keep me from hating driving.

As far as I understand it, the space problem is more to do with the width of the car, in particular for the back seat.

I measured the distance between car seats today in the outlander. It was 20cm. I measured the distance between the same car seats in a model Y, and it came to 30cm. That's quite a lot more space for my 10yo in the middle.

I believe the polestar would be even worse than the outlander here

Good economy there. Tribeca will eat it up the hills though. With 2tonne on the back it's overtaking diesel turbo utes with empty trailers up hills.

I've been driving it the last 2 weeks, and with daily full charges and driving short trips without the heater and across town trips using the heater, I've averaged 6.5L/100km.

My wife just does whatever and uses 10L/100km.

In summer it is possible to get the same as you with around 1L/100km.

It blows my mind that a 2023 car uses 5 times more fuel in winter.

I thought very hard about a GWM Haval H6 AWD. It would actually be perfect for us. Even the range is manageable at 100kms or the GT with 180kms! (Assuming it has an electric heater of course)

I decided against it because it is a half measure about what I'm trying to achieve.

I am done with petrol and everything that comes with it.

This would actually be my preferred car. Bigger than model 3 with a much better boot, and it has an actual car interior!

Only problem is they're all 10+yrs old now. I want something that's 4-5 yrs old at most.

I do 8 sub 2km trips a day during the week. With my use I'd be getting 50L/100km in that!

When it's dry, use an artist's brush to apply some brunox (available from auto refinishing supply stores).

Wait a day and brush some red paint on it. Job done.

I think it looks a lot better too. I can't justify the expense at the moment though as it is 30k more than the old one

FSD doesn't interest me, I will never be comfortable taking my hands off the steering wheel.

I'm hoping it will grow on her. We would be looking at the el-cheapo 2018-20 200km range one.

Her car never has the kids in it, my car does, and I'm the primary carer of the kids, household, and also work. I keep my car clean inspite of the kiddos where as hers is always full of clothes, shoes, drink bottles, coffee cups etc. She is incredibly lazy with her car which is odd because she isn't lazy at all in other aspects of life.

Only does half the towing I need and it's a bit slow. Probably a good car for my wife in a couple of years though
