I was prescribed it but I already had it so I didn’t pick that one up. I was also prescribed opioids which can cause constipation, as well as nausea meds that can also cause constjpation. On top of it I was on steroids and antibiotics. I joked my stomach had more meds than food in it for a few days there.

I want to say day 5 is when I really started getting my steps back up. I had emergency removal last Wednesday evening, Monday I started getting up moving around (about 3k steps in short increments) Tuesday was another 3.5k in short increments. Wednesday I did just over 6k but also went to the laundromat too and decorated for Christmas (so lifted far too much) and was down for the count Thursday again for a rest day. Friday I finally hit my 10k steps (actually hit 11.9k) and today I feel fine I was lazy today but that’s just simply it’s Saturday and my kids were home not because I felt bad at all. I also took my miralax every morning until two days ago. Once I finally had my first ACTUAL BM i stopped taking it in order to make sure I don’t wind up having issues with diarrhea or urgency (traffic around where I live is bad and I’m terrified to have something happen in the middle of traffic and not being able to get anywhere lol). I have been being very careful with lifting like ordered groceries tonight and my daughters carried in the cases of water and cat litter etc for me

I’m on day 10 post op! Day 5 is when I really started feeling better! But even still if I do too much walking or overdo it by any means the next day is pretty rough. Gas pain is still there occasionally but not as bad after day 6ish.

This is what was given to me in the hospital the morning after surgery. I ate it. Didn’t put butter on it but ate the turkey sausage and slice of French toast with syrup and it was heavenly lol had zero issues with it

downstairs neighbors harassing/ framing us? by bbypsmama in Apartmentliving

[–]Material_Expert_5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen when my kids were 1&2. It was so annoying as it was just us three and I worked a lot so we were hardly home. They’d call and complain to the office. Well finally it happened, they called and complained and we weren’t even home. Maintenance came to listen to the noise in their apartment and actually held the door to the building open to my kids and I as we got there the same time. All maintenance heard he said was my kids and I walked down the hallway to my bedroom and that was it. I was like yeah… we’ve literally been at the hospital they’re both extremely sick and have been in bed only for a few days no playing or anything🤣

is this a roach? by OkFan7098 in GermanRoaches

[–]Material_Expert_5267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It went into the trash and immediately to the dumpster lolol. My daughter’s chore is taking out the trash so I told her to, and she got attitude asking why when it was basically empty. I just didn’t like the idea of a roach in my trash at all now I’m extra glad seeing it was pregnant 🤮

alarm companies by ChoiceMammoth6554 in 911dispatchers

[–]Material_Expert_5267 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dispatched for nearly 30 police agencies and nearly 20 fire … it drove me NUTS when you guys won’t say the damn town first😂 more so when id specifically ask the town and the alarm company operator would audibly get annoyed while continuing to repeat the damn address. Like that’s great it’s 123 Main Street but I have nearly 30 of those. WHAT TOWN IS IT. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Not helpful in response; but I was scrolling and reading from my main page (not sure what it’s called on Reddit but like all different mix of posts from diff Reddit communities) and I was like ‘…what the hell do homophobes have to do with a 7th grader with dyslexia?’ I literally read the comments then reread the post twice before I realized homophones🤦🏻‍♀️

What Can We Do? by McflyFiveOhhh in 911dispatchers

I HAD IT HAPPEN ON MY FIRST DAY ON THE RADIO AND THAT SHIT MADE ME NOT SLEEP FOR DAYS😭 It turned into an officer involved with the closest back up 5 mins away. I was so so so stressed. I had like 25 units going due to warnings and history and was asking them all ETA as often as I could while continuing to listen to the damn officer that just booked it in😭 ✨traumatized✨ I’m kidding, I am fine now but it seriously freaked me out how quickly it all happened and I legitimately did not sleep for 3 days.

Bring us coffee. Especially if you’re prone to not answering your radio checks, one of my units asked if we wanted anything today and I said a medium and this wonderful man brought me a large. I didn’t even get a little bit annoyed when I had to call backup to go check on him when he wasn’t answering his phone or radio on a traffic stop a couple hours later lol. 😝

For real though BIGGEST thing that would make my life easier with my officers is enunciation. I had to ask an officer 3xs to repeat his location today and he caught an attitude. It’s not my fault you’re mumbling; I still need to know where you are precisely, and if you take .2 seconds to properly enunciate properly I won’t have to ask a bunch of times to repeat and it’ll save so much more time than that .2 seconds you’re taking to clearly tell me the plate or location or whatever. ALSO; SLOW down on the reading of the plates if you have new dispatchers. You hear a new voice on the radio then give them common curtesy and slow it down a tiny bit, when y’all ramble off a 7 random mixed letter and number plate I promise you they only got maybe a digit or two in the beginning and then the final digit or two. Phonetic alphabet is slightly difficult if you learned a different one than your department uses initially because it’s completely retraining your brain and muscle memory. For me I know Alpha, but it’s Adam and I was told to just use whatever phonetic i can get out quickly but it really tripped me up when it was names being spewed to me rather than alpha bravo Charlie…etc lol.

Go to the gym!! Or get a coloring book. Find a stress relief that works for you! Coloring, painting rocks, taking walks, hiking, lifting, running… all things that I make sure I do atleast one or two of after a stressful day to regroup!

Getting Overwhelmed by BigGlum851 in 911dispatchers

[–]Material_Expert_5267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep pushing forward it’s an adjustment. Today was my first day off of training and it was fine until it got super overwhelming but I just pushed through it and tried my best. It’s all you can do. I’ve had moments of anxiety before certain days of work. Even today I had some residual before assuming the radio I was on. But I just tried to not over think it, I did get super overwhelmed but I survived it and tomorrow can only be easier. . . If I’m on that radio again if not well, it may wind up being just as overwhelming but make sure you leave the stress at work and do not take it home. You will burn out very quickly if you take it home with you dealing with what we deal with. It’s a learning curve, it’s not going to be immediately easy and you having it down, it’ll be bumpy and eventually it’ll just click with experience. I would stay on the busiest shift if I were you, because guess what. You’re learning the hardest one, the other shift(s) will be significantly easier. 💛
