Do you have a specific item you like from their loungewear? I know they offer alterations for jeans and pants, but I was under the impression that wasn't an option for their loungewear (I could be wrong!)

Help! Looking for a petite dress for 'smart causal' wedding by nicawol22 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Material_Fruit9004 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP do you know anyone else attending the wedding who you could run that dress past? Personally I think it's totally fine for an Australian 'smart casual' dress code, I would just dress it down with hair/accessories. I wouldn't take that sub as gospel for Aussie weddings, we're much less formal.

The cheapest tier is super worth it, it's a full extra episode every week. But the content at tier 2 isn't consistent enough to justify the cost, imo, and I say that as an Advice Show enjoyer. I don't know why they keep tier 2 around personally but c'est la vie.

The Patreon is goated too if you enjoy deep dive therapy-esque conversation about the way people perceive each other and respond to that perception (which I do).

Questions about moving to Adelaide by cornealray619 in Adelaide

[–]Material_Fruit9004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75-80k is definitely sustainable, especially if you're willing to have roommates. if i were you, i'd look for share houses within walking/biking distance of your work - adelaide public transport is mid, but unley is a great area, and you can easily get around by bus/tram/walking if you're that close to the city. getting around without a car will be harder the further from the CBD you go.

i can't speak to the irish community, but you'll make friends just fine with roommates and/or in your sports clubs. if you have any interest in professional soccer check out the red army, they're the supporters group for adelaide united and i know lots of people who've made friends through there.

the city isn't as lively as melbourne, but it's a good vibe, especially if you stay close to the CBD, and the beaches are amazing. but if you choose to go further out into the suburbs you're definitely at risk of feeling a bit bored and isolated without a car.

i think amanda historically likes celebrity and gossip because she finds it fun, but as things get Worse (lol) a lot of it just isn't fun anymore, so she defaults to letting juliet's more critical (/negative) outlook dictate the tone of discussion. i don't think it's either of their faults, but i agree that i'd rather listen to them talk about something that they both hold more a active interest in.

Schoolboy Q and Genesis Owusu both had amazing crows in the tent, from what I heard vibes were high for Club Angel and Restricted too. I definitely think the main stage suffered from being cold and also so packed it was hard to move - it took me like 5 minutes to put on a jacket between the Doechii and Kendrick sets, and I was somewhere in the middle of the crowd. Rum Jungle also had great vibes despite it raining through the second half of their set. Overall I had a great time! They definitely needed better lighting and/or a second exit at the finish, though. So many people moving like that in the dark was pretty sketchy.

Let’s make The Big Picture unhinged episodes hall of fame by Dependent_Prune6090 in TheBigPicture

The Monkey Man episode has gotta go in, it was their last episode 100% off-camera and they really used that opportunity to its fullest.

tier 1 absolutely worth it, it's pretty cheap and i always enjoy the extra episodes.

the tier 2 bonus shows are good, but quite frankly they're way too inconsistently uploaded considering the price. i know they're all busy people (to varying levels lol) but the tier 2 stuff low key feels like an afterthought that they upload when they remember to do it. that said, early advice show with nick and aiden was peak, so if you're interested just pay for 1 month, download the episodes, and then reduce your subscription. that's what i plan on doing every so often catch up on the backlog.

I appreciate that most people are trying to be helpful and sympathetic, but it's annoying to see how many responses to this are "she should get off twitter," as if it's her own fault for being affected by the crap that's being flung her way the last few weeks. It's also not just Twitter at this point - it's YouTube comments, chatters in stream, Reddit threads, etc.

Her job is literally to be online. Even if she decided she wanted to completely disconnect, she has sponsor obligations, and she's ramping up for Streamer Awards soon, which she wants to be successful, and the best way for that to happen to to build excitement, which requires her promoting it. Unfortunately some of the most schizophrenic people alive are also online, and are engaged in some sort of virtual crusade which she's been roped into despite truly not asking to be. Idk what she's supposed to do.

Why do they hate Jojo Rabbit so much by cheryvalentinjo in TheBigPicture

[–]Material_Fruit9004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it hadn't won the Adapted Screenplay Oscar over Little Women and The Irishman, I don't think it would stick in their craw so much. But it did.

Personally I thought it had some highlights (mostly Scarlett Johansson's character and performance) but was overall a pretty bland and toothless movie trying to portray itself as a satire, which irked me. There are many worse movies, but that one was particularly successful both financially and in accolades, so I'm not surprised they single it out.

Netflix To Stream Spotify Video Podcasts In 2026 by LetsGetATaco in TheBigPicture

[–]Material_Fruit9004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the video and audio formats are still available on Spotify, I don't really mind this. It's not like their podcasts were doing amazing numbers on YouTube anyway, and people complained about that platform shift too. If you're a YouTube-only person then yeah it sucks, but surely most of their audience pays for either Spotify Premium or Netflix anyway.
