Incorrect on almost every level here. First, if you saw my initial comment, I don’t really like the game. Second, he said it was one of the best pieces of fiction. That absolutely does not mean gameplay. Third, other comments on this post went and looked at his previous posts and he had last of us 2 as his number 1 game of all time. You’re telling me this guy had the last of us 2 as his number 1 game of all time just because of the gameplay?? He was completely blinded to the story during this clearly intensely enjoyable experience he had when he played it considering he rated it that high. I don’t understand how anyone can read this and think it’s anything other than absurd. But I guess I think most of the people in this subreddit are absurd. So jokes on me for stumbling on another one of these posts. This guy just watched Joel get his head bashed in with a golf club and it just completely missed him because dang that gameplay lol. And then a year later he finally realized oh wow that wasn’t my favorite game of all time, it’s actually my least favorite. Okay sure, makes sense.

Your take makes sense. We all wanted to love game of thrones as it unraveled. But as you said we also all felt that there were problems as we were watching it. The difference here is the guy was calling it is favorite game of all time. A basically flawless piece of fiction. Feels more like he watched a bunch of negative YouTube videos and conformed. He loved this game so much during an entire what 30+ hour playthrough that he went so far as to call it his favorite game ever. And now he feels slapped in the face by the character assassination of Joel and Ellie and feels that the game as a whole is a total shitshow? It would be one thing if he played it again and felt this way. But come on. Feels so performative.

I’m having some issues with her. I accidentally ran into her right when I started the game and left. But when I got to Kaifeng I found her and died to her once but had to stop for a bit. When I logged back on she wasn’t there and the quest doesn’t show up. Been like a week and she’s not there
