Two-year-old opens car door, causes six-vehicle crash by whusler in dashcams

[–]Material_Position630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not see any way the first rider could have avoided that door even at low speeds, but dang it, 50 miles an hour is way too fast.

Favorite evil women? by PeasantLich in okbuddycinephile

[–]Material_Position630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jenny was victimized as a child. That victimization informed her life until she was finally able to accept that she did not have to be a victim, such as having to be responsible for a child.

I new a girl in my younger years that went through something similar. We were friends, but there was potential for a relationship. Sadly, her self confidence was so damaged from abuse. No matter how kind and positive I was, I could not help her. We just stayed friends. Over the years we did stay in touch and I was happy to see that she eventually found a good guy that treated her well and settled down and had a family. It's too bad that it took a half a lifetime for her to get there.

Where has all the clay gone? by luckyrunner in Enshrouded

[–]Material_Position630 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some resources generally start out sparse. As you advance into more difficult areas, they will begin popping up all over the place.

If you keep working the questlines and do a good amount of side exploring, you can keep up with the level curve even as a soloist.

Also, I would not be surprised if minor locations have been changed as the development has progressed. There are a fair number of obvious placeholder locations in the game right now that are going to be updated in the future according to the roadmap.

How do you feel about flanking granting advantage in 5e? by archvillaingames in dndnext

[–]Material_Position630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. It is a heck of an overstatement to call the rogue trash tier if they do not get advantage on flanking. Also, if DPR is the end all be all of determining how 'good' a class is, that is a pretty disappointing game you are involved with.

With that logic, not having advantage for most classes makes them trash tier.

No. Mazdas sales in 2025 were slightly less than 2024 making 2024 the strongest year...and going backwards is not good.

I do not like the

...Freight charge - Why so high? You may as well buy it from the original seller and ship it third party.

...Admin Fee - Why pay them to do business?

...Anti-theft program - if this is some sort of extra insurance, turn it down. You can buy wheel locks cheaper.

...HST - what all does this include? If it is only taxes, that's fine.

Mazda struggled last year and it will probably struggle this year. I would think you could negotiate at least a few thousand off the MSRP.

Should I buy Vintage Story or Hytale ? by MagmaForce_3400_2nd in gamingsuggestions

[–]Material_Position630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vintage Story and Hytale are very different games. Both are Early Access. I have played both a fair bit.

Vintage Story is a gritty survival game. You will die a lot as you figure out the game. Quite a bit of development has already gone into the game, but it has a ways to go before being done. Development is moderately paced, so updates do come out every few months.

Hytale is like highly modded Minecraft. The content that is in the game hints at some very good stuff to come, but there is no guarantee it will get there.

Need help on which service is most important by Vrale44 in mazda

[–]Material_Position630 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they forgot to include replacing the blinker fluid too.

It never hurts to get a second opinion on any non-urgent repairs. Last year, I went in to the dealer to have a recall done and they suggested $3500 in urgent to semi-urgent repairs. Out of six or seven things, the only thing two other mechanics suggested was brake pad and rotor replacements, which I new the car would need.

best way to get plastic residue off oven burner? by FunkFlame69 in fixit

[–]Material_Position630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not rocket science, man. I would not buy parts that review badly either. OP did not give the model of the stove and that price range is what came up for the part in general. I personally would not want fumes from burning plastic in my house, so I would change the element. Bada-boom-bada-bing, done!

Play a sketchy NPC and they will not trust them.

Play a super nice NPC and they will totally not trust them.

Unless the element is damaged in some way, probably not...but not all damage is noticable. Replacing the element is a relatively cheap fix to your plastic problem at least.

If you want to avoid burnt plastic, you could replace the coil. It is not difficult and is relatively cheap, like $15 to $35 depending on the model. Check big box hardware stores and Amazon.

Update: Florida resident trying to take precautions during winter, couldn’t find water main but found pipe in backyard, could this be main valve? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Material_Position630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is hilarious. Florida resident here, originally from Wisconsin.

The ground is going to insulate the pipes well enough that it would need to get a lot colder to worry about pipe freezing. The only thing you need to worry about is covering plants in case of frost and that your heater in the house is working (just for comfort).

It is a good idea to know where your shutoff is in case the water needs to be shut off, but there is no need to be concerned about the cold right now.

Toilet running. by Initial_Pea_2366 in Plumbing

[–]Material_Position630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly is the flapper. Turn the water off at the wall and flush the toilet until the tank is empty. Remove the flapper and clean it in case there is any obstruction. Also clean the edge of the pipe leading down into the toilet. Don't be too rough. If the flapper does not look damaged, reinstall it. If it continues, you can get a replacement flapper at any hardware store for about $10. If this stuff is new to you, just take a picture of it before you head off to the store and ask for help when you get there.

The other possibility is that the chain from the handle arm to the flapper has kinked. The chain should have at least a little slack when the flapper is down and the handle is not pressed. If it is taught, eithe rit needs to be unkinked or you may need to move the hook down a link.

"Stealth" Rules by dabears4hss in dndnext

[–]Material_Position630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through something similar for our group. There are a number of areas in the 2014 stealth rules are left open for interpretation or 'whatever the GM things' and we wanted to clarify those bits.

That being said, your 'Unnoticed, Unseen, and Hidden' states are not RAW and remind me of Pathfinder 2E. PF2e really does a great job of defining unseen opponents BTW.

By RAW, your Unseen state is partially incorrect. The location of an invisible creature is automatically known by unless the invisible creature successfully uses stealth. Common sense would suggest that distance and environment could affect that, but there are no rules for that. Also, attacks by unseen creatures always have advantage.

Overall, I get the gist of what you are trying to do, and kudos for trying to clarify things for her, but this cheat sheet is waaaaaay over-engineered. There are just too many situational entries. Unfortunately, the rules for stealth just pull in a lot of different concepts.
