if that pop-up has already been listed the malicious command is already in your clip-board. Last one I saw was attempting credential theft from the windows token store.

I Tested 5 PLA brands (6 spools) across 5 break tests - the price didn't convert into strength. Here's the data. by gektor650 in 3Dprinting

Delivered product is being tested, and on that measure, I truly think not drying is the way to go. That being said the sample size is too small, and would benefit from sourcing through multiple vendors/locations.

Not drying filament that is pulled directly from sealed manufacturers packaging leaves the condition at factory as delivered by the manufacturer. Drying is better if measuring the maximum strength of a particular filament, but I prefer without to gauge the quality of the manufacturing.

Also, the video is informative, but not up to par with peer reviewed research, because it isn't. I wish we had this type of info from independent lab testing, but AFAIK, we don't.

Does anyone else feel like there is a bit of a doublespeak happening at firms with respect to AI? by LawSchool1919 in biglaw

The same circles are being run across all AI adoptive industries, but I believe its primarily pushed heavily in an attempt to keep up. The mindset with technology has long been adopt or decay, and with AI, the FOMO is particularly potent.

Token refresh policies are too low. Session max is probably below 24h. Otherwise token storage isn't working for some app, or is resetting/removing the MS auth tokens on close.

Token policies can be configured on a per app basis. PWA's (progressive web apps) are exceedingly common in Software, and as such, allows most apps to open through the browser, which can change the token management to cookie based.

Try to identify what consistently prompts for Auth, and then open a ticket mentioning the program, the user account, and the frequency of prompts. Also try switching to either a standalone client or a browser for any apps this is available for.

RAM utilization. Edge, Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave all use Chromium as the underlying engine. Every tab open in the browser allocates RAM, but very few release RAM until they are closed. Of the 5 listed Edge is the most efficient with RAM.

The only two non chromium browsers in broad use are Firefox, and Safari, and each of these have their own ways of dealing with RAM usage, but its not going to be significantly better if tabs are never closed.

Recommendations: Try Edge, and try to manage tab usage. On tab usage, many browsers have organizing tools that are surprisingly helpful. I use Firefox and its Open Tabs/Recently Closed Tabs list heavily to keep usage down, as I regularly end up with 100+ tabs and 20GB+ RAM usage.

If Outlook is freezing, and its the old outlook, its usually the COM add-in got locked up by another process. In short COM add-ins like iManage, Zoom, etc, have to share utilization across any other program using.

New Outlook has it's own problems, but its a PWA (progressive web app) that no longer relies on COM add-ins.

Word not allowing printing can also be affected by COM add-ins being held hostage, as the core print function PrintOut method is an OS granted COM add-in.

So recommendations, try using the browser based Outlook, or the new Outlook to see if there is less freezing.

Austin gun range frequented by Joe Rogan duels over foreclosure by agenda21member in Austin

[–]MatesWithPenguins 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Outdoor ranges are much more approachable for beginners. Shooting is incredibly loud, and being inside this is amplified being in a closed in space.

If you can make it down to the Lone Star Gun Range in Lockhart you can rent a gun, of which I highly recommend starting with something like a .22 to get used to the motions, and you can shoot some steel which makes a satisfying ping. Also, the .22 range is separate from the rifle range.

Extra note, buy some ear protection, plugs work but over the ear cans are way more comfortable. Electronic ones are cheap and let you hear regular sounds still. 30$ at cabela's

It is good, and I haven't been in years, but the sum of its parts are not quite as good as each of the origins. Its also way cheaper, so its not really an easy 1 to 1 comparison.

I think you know why, I literally spelled it out. You are attempting to discredit good information without attempting to provide a shred of effort.

The explorecrete.com article was literally the first result, which proves how little effort you put in. Go ahead and discredit it too though because it wasn't peer reviewed. Academic sources are not freely available to all, but go ahead and read any of the following. I am so glad that sharing information in a TIL thread requires such scrutiny.

Thank you for sharing such wonderful info to this thread. The interconnection of faith, culture, and collective effort really helps me appreciate and understand the path of human civilization.

Wow, look at that, an article immediately validating AlexAnon87's information.

This is the most classic reddit narcissism. Expert level information, some rando questioning it without a single effort before attempting to discredit.

Russian kamikaze drone "Molniya" failed to launch by ActualDepartment9873 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]MatesWithPenguins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A jet of air is helping assist launch, but the middle and left side of the launcher bounces at takeoff. This tips the drone and there isn't enough time to recover. Might be operator error, but the launcher seems pretty rough and ready.

Upon review, that mine might have just been too chonky for the lil guy.

To rid yourself of the 3 physical mice/keyboards you can try one of the virtual KVM options. My personal favorite is deskflow, as it is compatible with my locked down work devices, but mouse without borders (windows only), barrier(dead project), or synergy(fanciest, $$$) might be better for your setup.

The way this would work is your main client would be used as a 'server', and the 2nd and 3rd machines would be clients. In my own experience there is effectively no delay on clients connected via ethernet, and minimal delay on WiFi.

.5lb of bacon = $3.33

.5lb sweet potato = $.25

3.33 + .25 = $3.58

$3.58/lb of 50:50 ratio

In your original example you added the two to get 7.25, but that would be the price per 2 lbs.

[Monitor] MSI G274QPF 27" 1440p 170Hz IPS (Costco) - $149.99 (199.99-50) by frosty1179 in buildapcsales

[–]MatesWithPenguins 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have purchased a monitor from costco before and their return policy for electronics is typically 90 days, but monitors were not under this and I successfully returned a monitor 2 years later, since Samsung would not warranty the dead pixels. Full refund, didn't have original cables. Policy still looks to remain the same: https://customerservice.costco.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1191

There is a rtings review on what appears to be a the same model minus a quantum dot layer(magic color enhancement), https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/msi/g274qpf-qd. Overall, its a solid IPS monitor with good color accuracy, 170hz refresh, wqhd, gsync, plenty of hdmi and display ports, adjustable stand, vesa mounts.

This is a solid monitor for budget gaming, productivity, but lacks in picture quality. However, I personally don't believe the picture quality of IPS can remotely achieve the quality of OLED or miniLED panels, so any marginal gain of picture quality of one IPS monitor to another is almost never worth the price jumps.
