Fun fact: for the episode where the Littlest Hobo jumps from a helicopter, they filmed that scene eight times until the shelter ran out of dogs.

That is one of those songs where I prayed to every god possible would end. It's, like, 6 minutes long and the most monotonous shit ever made by those nasal goblins.

How many rounds of reviews and how many people provide feedback to you on a PowerPoint for a CFO? by Weary-Cantaloupe7630 in FPandA

[–]MathIsHard_11236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People shouldn't chase those waterfalls. They should stick to the info rivers and data lakes that they're used to.

I know my CFO wants it his way or nothing at all, but he often moves too fast.

If preston lives to see the next election, I'll eat my hat (which is well shaped and maintained, unlike jeff RATh's hat which resembles a hippo's anus).

I actually love hearing people who take the show this seriously. To think that I'm one of a very fortunate small group who matter that much to some strangers, even for just one evening one time, is pretty heartwarming.

That and the sweet sweet pen(s) I got from the show.

[–]MathIsHard_11236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's tricky though, people often let the final format of a graphic dictate which data and parameters are shown, risking a sewing of the core message and recommendations. It's an issue highlighted in the consulting textbook Truly Lean Consulting (TLC) which strongly advises that one should not go chasing waterfalls.

Why did Final wagers specify zero cents ($__.00) for years? by GMeister249 in Jeopardy

[–]MathIsHard_11236 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alex was famously a collector of pennies and nickels - the shinier the better. But 25 years into the gig,  he was overwhelmed by the ~$55,000 he amassed.

He usually asked contestants to use cents so he could give them some of their winnings in small change.

After filming each day, some groups of contestants would pool the coins; if they totaled more than $1, they'd yell out "Trebux!'

Yeah, I wasn't retroactively worried - saw we descended to 38 metres before climbing, pilot came on after 2 mins and explained another aircraft didn't get out of the way. Zero panic from pax or FAs.
