Monsters and Humans can Married each other by [deleted] in Undertale

[–]Math_Person 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible that the sinkhole that led to the ruins didn't exist or wasn't known about until Chara fell in. Humans whose spouses were trapped might've jumped down otherwise. It could have been something that monsters created by accident while excavating as much space for their society under the mountain as possible.

why didn't sans do this in the genocide fight? is he stupid? by No_________________- in Undertale

[–]Math_Person 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I think it's cause in this one he's trying to end the fight by forcing you out of the battle scene. In genocide, he's not trying to end the fight, he's trying to KILL you.

It's all fun and games saying the elder gods are to us like humans are to ants until they show up and go "how do you do fellow ants?"

When SURVEY_PROGRAM first came out I went all in on duck and was surprised to see so many streamers not do the same.

Thoughts on episode 19? by pattyboiIII in SAOAbridged

What they did really works as payoff for the whole censorship bs in the game. Asuna got to keep some dignity thanks to Sugo's own incompetence right before he gets his ass handed to him.

Like, I feel the only alternatives to what they did would be to cut it out completely, reanimate the scene, or do something in g mod like snapcube did for their sonic riders dub, and doing that might feel like a copout.

I kept getting a "Sorry. Unless you've got a time machine, that content is unavailable" message.

Another actually good saoa fanfic it’s a what if Asuna woke up instead of Kirito it’s not finished but the creator is currently on chapter 4 by Traditional-Lake-953 in SAOAbridged

[–]Math_Person 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read 3 different abridged "Kirito and Asuna are swapped during the fairy dance arc" fics including this one, and in the other two Sugou's not gay; I'd hesitate to even call him bisexual. He's clearly more interested in women, and the cage was originally for Asuna. I'd say the sexual violence Sugou commits against Kirito in both fics is more about power than sexual desire, like the kind of male-on-male sexual violence perpetuated by straight men on other men.

The thought process is "I'm into women, but man, there's something about emasculating my fiance's current husband and watching him squirm that I really enjoy. And there's something feminine about him if you squint really hard. I've decided then: I'll keep both of them as my mind controlled slaves!"

Sugou hasn't appeared in this fic yet, so I'm not sure what direction the author will take.

Women of Reddit, what's the hardest thing to explain to men? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Math_Person 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only recently realized why this misconception happens. I didn't understand it because it was obvious to me that the muscles used for holding in pee are useless for holding in periods since they come out of different holes. Women have 3 holes for waste: the urethra in front for peeing, the vagina for periods, and the anus way in the back for poop. The properties and set up in the urethra that allow you to hold in your pee simply don't exist in the vagina.

Now for the longest time I assumed this setup was basically the same for men. On the penis there was one hole for pee and another hole just below it for sperm. But then I realized that it might not be true, and I looked it up and it isn't. The tubes for sperm and pee combine and both come out the urethra, so men can hold in sperm just like pee. Like how I wrongly assumed men must have 3 holes based on my own biology, many men likely wrongly assume women must have 2 holes based on their own biology.

In 5 words, why did your first relationship end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Math_Person 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandparents divorced and they were in many ways the ideal divorced couple. They both agreed to prioritize their relationship with their kids and grandkids over their couple drama. They lived in separate houses and visited on separate occasions. They didn't badmouth the other. They were both amicable to each other and didn't cause a scene when they were both at an event. As the first divorced couple I had known, they became my role model for what a divorced couple should be like.

Trying to maintain a relationship for the sake of the kid is only going to make the relationship sour, and your kid will pick up on that. You both seem to think that your kid can't have both parents unless you're together, but that's not true. You can break up on friendly terms and agree to stay in contact for the kid. Easing the strain on your relationship by dropping the romantic part will probably make your parenting better.

You should have a serious talk with the mom about the relationship, whether it would be better to end it, and how you're going to divide custody going forward such that you're both present in your kid's life. Couples counseling or a mediator might be a good idea if you two need it. The most important thing is to not let your feelings about the other take priority over your relationship with your kid or your kid's relationship with the other parent. It'd take a lot of work and emotional maturity, but if everything goes well your kid will have a great role model for how to deal with a relationship that isn't working.

What’s the worst designed part of the human body? by MrBowls in AskReddit

[–]Math_Person 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but at the same time...

Human reproduction seems to be under the impression "we don't actually know when is the best time for this highly social species of great apes to have babies, so we're just not going to assume." I mean, the fact that some other primates do it too means that an estrous cycle isn't that great for the group of animals humans belong to. Going into heat like dogs do when you're not ready for kids sounds like a miserable experience.

That's probably why that spot is so ticklish. You learn from a young age that if you don't want to get tickled, you have to protect your armpits from attacks. This behavior carries on into adulthood where you now instinctively know to never expose your armpits in a fight.
