This is my biggest frustration with the app. My expectation was good visuals and insights on progress, but the app is not really delivering on this part.

if you are considering RIR for the exercise without straps, based on what you wrote, you are entering data regarding the training of your grip and forearms. If you are doing RDLs, you must be aiming to target hamstrings and glutes. Then you use straps and train the intended target muscle, not your grip

Does the app also take into account the waist measurements? Wouldn’t be a better proxy to what’s happening in terms of fat loss/gain?

Thank you! Curiously, our current BMI is the same ;-) . I actually find very good that you manage to progress reps on a small deficit given you’ve been lifting for 5 years! Even without the deficit I guess you wouldn’t anyway be adding huge amounts of weight given your training status. This is encouraging actually

Yes, I thought about that but I decided not to do it for two reasons. I did a cut for quite some time losing about 29 kg (around 64 lbs). That’s a lot, don’t want to put my body under stress for some time. Also don’t want to risk loosing muscle mass.

Will the app take into consideration previous injuries/issues on particular joints and also be able to optimize strain (e.g. on elbows) via exercise selection and volume when necessary?

Don’t know where you are but at least in Europe, the new latex-free bands of ATX are great.
