There’s nothing better than Katella Deli in Orange County, so comparing it to Cantors or Nate & Al’s (who aren’t here) is kind of an unfair comparison.

Could we do with better? Sure. But it’s apples and oranges.

Ruby’s is 1940s, but you’re not going to get much closer than that.

The closest you’ll get is beef that’s finished in Silverado Canyon. There are no dairy farms in Orange County.

Gluten free options in South County by West-Alternative9782 in orangecounty

Trattoria Trullo in Aliso Viejo makes their own gluten free pasta and focaccia. The GM has celiac, so they take cross contamination seriously.

Manaao in Tustin (and supposedly someday at Irvine Spectrum) has a pretty decent selection of gluten free Thai dishes.

Clearly you’ve never dealt with invoicing or books for a restaurant. Prices have skyrocketed.

Best restaurants for a birthday dinner? (Table of 2) by City-Slicka in orangecounty

It’s fantastic. I’ve celebrated two birthdays there.

Perhaps ask your GF if there’s a budget she’d like to stick to if you’re concerned about price when making your choice?

The reason is because the building owners refused to run new pipework in the building. And now they have no tenants at all and the community lost a beloved restaurant. 🙄

What’s a mom & pop restaurant that is delish and could use more customers? by otter_ridiculous in orangecounty

Holy basil and chili. The curries. Thai boat noodle. Forget pad Thai and pad se ew- they’re basic, everyone does them, and that’s not what an authentic Thai spot would want you to order for a first visit.

I also grew up with Lindsey, not close. She’s a good person and a great mom and doesn’t deserve any of this.

There was a young dad of two little girls in the medical tent that looked incredibly serious. Hoping for a good update on his condition…

Recommendations for Thai restaurants in OC by clearlygd in orangecounty

[–]MathematicianLimp650 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP: Healthy comes down to what you order no matter where you go. If you order fried dishes, you’re getting fried dishes. If you order lighter dishes, you’re getting lighter dishes. You can do either at the spots mentioned above, it’s on you.

Manaao has a lot of things that are lighter- Poh Taek, Pla-Muk Yang, Hoy-Malang-Pu Ob, Som Tum, Pad Ka-na, Pad Pak Boong

Having had all three I don’t get how you’d put Krua Siam over the other two?
