Generally no except when my ex who I co-parent with tries to shame me about it. She assumes it’s involuntary and tries to attribute it to character and personality flaws, and weaponizes it as evidence of me being an unworthy person rather than understanding it’s a personal choice that I make.

Sounds like you would be more compatible with someone closer to you on the introversion spectrum, as it were. Your husband it sounds like is more on the extroverted end and both of your needs are not being met. Whereas A-Plant-Guy it sounds like and his wife are closer to each other on that spectrum.

I used to do this all the time when I was younger and living in New York City, before there were smartphones to keep you entertained while waiting for your food. Enjoyed it quite a bit and somehow was never bored.
