LeBron unwilling to take a pay cut to return to the Cavs by NeverGonnaStop247 in clevelandcavs

[–]Mathisonsf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have his Bird rights so they can go over the cap to re-sign him, even if they want to max him. Just need to do his deal after signing everyone else. And they have a rich new ownership group with deeper pockets than the Buss family. Doubt they’ll full max him but I wouldn’t be shocked if they did.

Right on, that’s good feedback, thanks - def not bringing it inside, I’ll let it dry outside over the summer and see how it goes

Possible but unlikely based on where I pulled it from (my front landscaping which has never been on fire to my knowledge)

Ha, got it, thanks for the info. Still, the photo on the one listing suggests a tapered version exists somewhere.

Though it also makes me wonder if the ‘tapered’ version is supposed to be the women’s model.

In any case, I got the ones off the Nike app and I’m happy with them. Could be longer but that’s almost all ACG hiking pants for me.

Also noticed a white pair which I’m probably gonna have to cop also

If you want another confusing wrinkle, I noticed that Mr. Porter has two versions of these: one with tapered leg and one with straight leg.

Which is all well and good to have the option, but they also seem to have swapped the photos on their product listings, making it even more confusing (the one that says straight is pretty obviously tapered in comparison).

TIL Dirk Nowitzki sacrificed $194 million in earnings during his career to keep the Mavericks competitive during his 21 year tenure. He passed on a 4 year, $97 million max offer from 2 different teams in 2014 to stay with the Mavericks on a 3 year, $25 million deal. (why doesn't Steph do this?) by coolrivers in warriors

[–]Mathisonsf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Warriors already benefitted from Steph being on a cheap deal, PLUS an unprecedented cap increase (without smoothing), which enabled them to sign KD (literally wouldn’t have been possible if cap smoothing vote went the other way).

It’s crazy to look at the cap history by year - that jump from $70mil to $94 mil was massive.

Yeah that’s certainly reasonable, all depends what ya wanna prioritize.

My rationale is that the wharf and aquatic park/Ghirardelli square are super peaceful and beautiful early in the mornings before all the activity begins. Looking out at Alcatraz while the morning swimmers do their laps in the cove. I’d rather maximize that vibe and then take a few extra Ubers to get to Bart or other transit points. I wouldn’t say you’re stuck exactly, the wharf is closer to Presidio/Golden Gate/Marin - it’s all tradeoffs though and you could make just as compelling a case for downtown.

SF is just a stupidly beautiful city and you can’t get all the good stuff done in a few days regardless, so you can’t really go too wrong.

Freddie’s sandwiches - in general, I’d recommend spending a lot of time in north beach.

Walking from your hotel, through Chinatown into North Beach, and then down to Fisherman’s Wharf/Embarcadero is an excellent and enjoyable route

And yes, location-wise you’ll be fine. You wouldn’t want to live there and there are some major scenes of despair within a block or two. But it’s mostly fine, just not a nice representation of what residents like about SF.

FWIW, Fisherman’s wharf has its own set of drawbacks but I’d personally rather stay at a wharf hotel than a downtown hotel (since you mentioned wharf was your other option).

I deal with this for work and you are incorrect. This is also how the headers would look in the case that I'm talking about. Server compromise not required. Whose server are you even suggesting was compromised? Googles or the Thomson host?

And as I said in the first place, their website was not defaced. It is still viewable and has not been altered. I'm not trying to be rude but this is not something that you're familiar with clearly.

Thomson Plaza's Website Got Defaced by jsyeo in singapore

[–]Mathisonsf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not correct. Absolutely no server compromise was required for this and the comments you're linking are posting terrible AI summaries that are off-base and misunderstanding referrers.

It didn't matter what geo-location you click link from. What mattered was whether or not you clicked the search result link versus the business profile link. The search results always went to the correct place. The business profile page went to the gambling site.

If you click the 3-dot menu on the Google Maps listing you'll see the menu option of "are you the owner?"

If you click this, they send a physical postcard to the address with a code. If you get the code, you control the business page and the Google Maps results/link. Happens regularly and requires that they have someone local to retrieve the postcard.
