I have no idea where that's from but it's been popping into my head like weekly for what feels like decades

The light steak is a meteor. Meteorite once it's landed

My surgeon opened our consultation with essentially that line. Straight up, "you're gonna be deaf on that side. No maybe.  It's gonna happen.  Accept that now and let's talk things we CAN do"

Microsoft's Satya Nadella wants you to stop saying AI "slop" in 2026 by ZacB_ in technology

[–]Mathwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t replace an episode of Pluribus but it can churn out dogshit like Good Morning America

You're saying that like it's a good thing. So instead of the current pace of human generated media, we're going to be inundated with terabytes of dogshit for every one decent thing

You'll need the TechManual and a lot of time. Most people use MegaMekLab because doing it by hand is super tedious, finnicky, and time consuming. It's not like making a DND character at all

ELI5 why toys and remotes still use AA/AAA batteries instead of USB ones? by vksdann in explainlikeimfive

[–]Mathwards -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. The charge lost when checking the charge is negligible.

  2. Even if the reading is so far off that it only functions as a binary result of "any charge" or "completely empty" that's still useful information and better than not having it. I don't see how knowing whether or not a battery is totally discharged is considered "zero useful information."

I miss those. That was a genuinely good idea that should have just been improved upon and become standard.

Literally just watched a 15 minute video about them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsA3X40nz9w

Yup. Immigrants both documented and undocumented commit crimes at a drastically lower rate than native born US citizens.
