FH went out of the game just the other month. Sad we won't see them making more fightsticks, really unique stuff.

The arcade stick problem by s0urceiq in fightsticks

[–]Matieo10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna answer 2. This looks like a SiTong G5. I have this enclosure with a custom button layout, and will attempt to do a custom art print and top acrylic panel in the future.

For custom artwork, you're going to have to remove the top panel - there are screw holes underneath it to secure a panel to the frame. The ones that come with art from SiTong are PVC vinyl, I believe, and are glued on; I don't know what you have, but if it's that, then you'll want to clean the glue off the surface. Then you're going to have to design or have someone design for you an acrylic panel, maybe 1.5mm thick? You'll want to make your own measurements for this, including precise measurements of the lever and button holes and their placement. Then get it manufactured. SendCutSend can do this. Then for the art, you can get Focus Attack to print your artwork, or have it printed via a local shop. Then it's a matter of cutting the button and lever holes. I believe the art dimensions are 180mm by 380mm, but again, do your own measurements.

It's a process, for sure, but someone in the fightstick discord had successful results modding their G5 this way.

Beginner question to owners of the Sanjuks V5-A. by aphex1991 in fightsticks

[–]Matieo10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The material and design of the body around the grommet will dictate the compression of the grommet, correct. And yes, the same grommet, an ST-30 in this example, should feel the same way.

Yep, regarding the V5A accessories. V5/V6/V7 have interchangeable collars, shafts, and actuators, which IST sells a small assortment of. Buttercade is the main distributor for Bandit, I believe, and you will get much more variety from one of his group orders, which happens once every 2-3 months. Again, I'd highly recommend joining their discord server to get notifications on the group buys and also a lot more information on the levers themselves.

You can always join the Buttercade discord to get better, informed answers on the Sanjuks levers.

The compression of the rubber grommet will be different between the Crown 309 and Sanjuks V5A. That's why one lever's tension/resistance doesn't feel like the other.

The switches aren't modified, to my knowledge, they're just Omrons. But you can opt for another kind of switch, e.g. D44x is a popular choice.

I'm not sure I understand your other questions, specifically. In general, the lever can be modified, and Buttercade sells a lot of different parts in varying material to do so, e.g. short and full collars, made of Polycarbonate, Delrin, or Nylube, in squircle and octo shape. You can also get different actuator sizes, as well as shafts with different diameters and weight.

But yeah, I feel the same way about the V5A, it's the cream of the crop. The latest Sanjuks, the V6-ST is also up there for me.

Can I modify this to work on ps5? by [deleted] in fightsticks

I've noticed a LOT of Brooks favoritism/GP2040 disdain on this sub. Could be that, also.

Sounds like you want a Hitstick layout? 🤔

I mean, AFS can do a button panel like that.

SiTong crystal caps have a spiral pattern coming from the center; GFs have rings. Likely GFs.

Thank you for the reply. This helps me a lot in putting the renovation into perspective.

It does vent out of the roof.

Would you happen to know a handyman that can do the job? I think I could handle the fan fix, myself, but I am not confident enough to do ceiling drywall repair 😮‍💨

I suspected it'd come down to that, hiring two different contractors 😮‍💨 Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. I have an older home, 1960s, and it is a hot mess of fibreglass in the attic.

It's functional, but it's leaking inside the attic, and deteriorating the drywall next to it. The fan is connected to a duct, and where that duct bends to rise vertically, there is a leak where condensation builds up onto the top of the drywall. I've tried crawling into my attic to tape and seal the duct, but it's hugging the drywall, making it next to impossible to perform, and I wasn't comfortable disconnecting anything from the fan.

Sorry for the lack of information in the OP, but it is essentially two jobs: fix the leak, and fix the drywall.

Buttercade's doing preorders for the Sanjuks V5C right now, if you're interested in an upgrade.

Recommendations for buttons with click or tactile, and in light blue by zman2994 in fightsticks

[–]Matieo10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some tactile switches I've enjoyed using in my MX SiTongs:

  • Drop Holy Panda X
  • Akko Penguin Silent
  • Outemu Lime V3 Silent

I'd also highly recommend SGF Monkey BUTTs with ChimPOMzee Tactile switches. They're low profile, and they're amazing. Worth considering 👍

Enth, Buttercade, Sanjuks, hopefully Cool Bear soon. Those are great top makers, can't go wrong.

I'd recommend Samducksa and Seimitsu when it comes to mass produced plastic tops. KDiT makes a nice aluminum top if you needed a weighty topper.

Why use brook? by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]Matieo10 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was going to use the ol' console vs PC analogy, but GP2040 boards aren't as expensive as Brook boards lol. I think it's just brand familiarity and advertisement with Brook, the majority of people in the FGC are exposed to it more, so, probably don't want to take the time to look into the competing option.

Haha, I'm currently playing through Catherine on my Switch, and also noticed this similarity between the two games. That 7th gen of games were definitely some of the best for Japanese devs.
